No kidding? My 1st car was a 73 Javelin SST, 360/727, Blue on blue. A-pillars and floor were rusted through, so I never "regretted" it.

Wouldn't mind having the '69 Fairlane Cobra HT with the Drag Pack... Unfortunately I sped it as well as a 428CJ Torino GT fastback... I do still have the engine from that one...

Don't much miss my early cars, but I'd like to have #4, a '64 Galaxie Fastback..

except for my 64 ,that is my favoite fairlane,your was awesome.i even bougth 67 cyclone body but hated the dash and grille ,ended up trading for a washing machine

I've owned only 4 cars (but have borrowed other relatives at times) since I've been driving. They are:
1987 Plymouth Voyager SE
1988 Ford Thunderbird LX
1993 Buick Century Custom
1995 Ford Thunderbird LX

I still have both the T-birds. The 88 is NEVER going anywhere. None of you here are going to ever get a chance to get it:D . I don't miss the Buick as it was a POS car. Never had a problem with the engine or trans but the body rusted all to hell and used to just randomly fall off the interior. I actually miss the 87 Voyager. Sure it was a van and slow as hell but I had a lot of memmories in that car.

I had a red 5-spd 2-door Volkswagen Fox (coupe, not wagon), with a sunroof, that was my best friend back in '99. My first coupe, first manual, and first car to do extensive work on. Actually, it was the first car I ever worked on. I got it for $250 from a customer who had brought it in to the shop I worked at as a scrub dog. It needed a passenger side axle (which is when I first found out these things had equal length axles. In fact, they are the same part #'s) a rad and a few other regular maintenance items.

I drove it through the mountains and across the country. I met my wife when I had this car, and we did a lot of driving together. It had a bizarre longitudinal transaxle setup (engine was perpendicular to the axles/tranny) and never had torque steer. It would light the 'tire' in first from a roll, which I thought was impressive at the time. My only car prior to that was a 3-cyl Subaru. I had installed an Alpine tape deck (hey, I was next to dirt poor) two amps in the trunk which I screwed to the rear seat back (there was a steel piece dividing the trunk from the passenger section, so it wasn't actually mounted to the seats) some boxed 6x9's in the rear window, and two 15" subs in the rear 'door panels' (I call them door panels, but it was a two door). If you sat in the back, forget about being part of the conversation.

I ended up selling it because Ange couldn't drive a stick and needed the car as she had to drive to work and I could walk. (This is a metaphor for married life, to all you single guys) I couldn't even talk when I drove it to the dealership to trade it in on a navy '91 3.8L Thunderbird. Didn't talk the whole way home either. When I bought the '87, I swore never to let my wife get rid of one of my toys again. I did get $1200 for it, though, so that's not bad.

This is the closest I can find online, but it was red and had a black 'skirt stripe' with a cheezy 'Club Fox' decal.

I can't say I really regret selling any of my cars, but I'm 24 and only on my 4th car. I would regret selling the Mark :hick:.

Now my parents on the other hand...

Matt,

Regarding the '70 Challenger, do you know if the paint on the car was original or if had been repainted by the time those pictures were taken?

EDIT: After looking at it more closely I see too many things that aren't correct, so it appears it was repainted by the time these pictures were taken.
Do you know if your parents bought the Challenger new?

as stupid as it is i regret selling the 93 escort i got for free. I could be driving right now if i hadnt sold the thing. Was a good little car too, needed some small work but it was nice for free. Only got 300 for it and it was worth more then that having all brand new tires and all the other repairs i did to it after i was giving it, my mom forced me to sell it to get my lincoln.

VW Foxes are cool*. They're nice and simple to work on, get good gas mileage, and go forever, kinda a spiritual successor to the Beetle.

my freinds dad has a 82? fox. its only got a four speed and you have to push the shifter down to put it into reverse. Fun though. You can chirp 3rd.

My regrets:
67 Chevelle SS 396 (lost in divorce)
67 Mustange coupe (6 cyl. 3-spd)
65 Impala (original 283 w/powerglide)

But, still have some toys in need of some TLC. All is not lost!

i pretty much regret every car ive had to let go or sold as i get attached to everything i own.
never owned anything "special" but ive had plenty of cars and trucks since i started driving(almost 30 and just turned 26 a week ago) but the one that i miss the most is my green 91 mustang 2.3l 5 speed lx.
my brother bought it from a used car lot back in 99 with 60 something k on it, he had it till 02 untill he got into an accident and by then the clutch was nothing and he didnt feel like fixing it so he sold it to my father for 400 bucks. my dad never drove it or did nothing to it for 2 years so i picked it up off of him for a favor. i learned how to "work" on a car from that car and i drove it all the time, honestly me and my brother beat the hell out of that car the whole time each of us had it had it but whenever something broke on it it was easy to fix, you didnt need to know anything to know how to fix that car. no rust and reliable enough to drive anywhere without issue(which i wasnt used to from my days of $300 auction beaters).
last year it got totalled by the insurance company from some freshly licensed forgien idiot making a u-turn from a parking spot on a busy road right into it. still ran and drove fine, actually just replaced the clutch in it a few weeks before it happend but they said it would cost more that it was worth to fix so they totalled it. i wanted to keep it but couldnt keep a salvaged car on my street or it will get towed in a heartbeat so had to let it go. , i miss that car.

the only car ive sold that i most regret was my 87 chevy sprint turbo.
