Power seat wire?

I know people hate or have beaten this to death. I have a question, How do I go about splicing or bypass the power seat control with a external power source to use it to move the seat back so I can be comfortable while driving. I hear it talked about all the time, but I need a step by step or pics of how to do it. I'm not confident in electrical and I know no to have power going to something while or when you about to work on something that draws power. And I'm not willing to spend the money to have some1 make me look like one of those kids on Mr. Wizard's show. they always look stupid. Plz help.

you will find a harness going to the driver switch when you pop out the center console plastic area holding all the switches.

when you find the switch / wiring for the driver seat forward / reverse.,,,,

1-locate the red/white wire
2-locate the yellow white wire

jumper the yellow white to a good ground or directly to any **SOLID BLACK WIRE within reach.

jumper the red/white wire to battery power

The seat should move back and stop when it runs out of track.
If for some odd reason the seat moves forward, then reverse your ground and your power leads.

go to my diy link and in there are wiring diagrams for power seats.

please make no assumptions,,, I did not say to unhook anything or manually move switches while you are doing this.  You asked for a step by step so there it is,, nothing more , nothing less.  If you volunteer to start deviating and do something not in the step by step,, its your car fire.

In other words,,, I mean what i say and say what i mean.  dont do anything but whats listed.

Now,,if there is some flaw with what i have written up,, someone will chime in.  My step by step is based on the fact that you have a defective seat switch that is currently INOP.
