You're on the same page as me as far as gearing.  I have absolutely no problems gettin outta the whole; she's a monster off the line.  And I don't really plan on gettin DRs or doing any serious racing with it

I think that if he stays away from drag radials or slicks he'll be fine. He'll spin before it breaks. The weakness in the 7.5 is the pinion. With 4.10s or lower the the pinion is smaller and tend to break EZ. For a street car, I dont see a problem with a 7.5.

Besides, I don't beat on the car or launch it hard very often.  It is the posi rear too, which helps.  I've heard that they can stand up to more abuse than many give them credit for.

Here it is, finally...a good video of the 306 in action.  Mostly just an overview/ride along, but a couple of WOT runs thrown in as well.

And for those who just want the best WOT clip without watching the rest, here it is

Enjoy!

So which one do you like better?  The white one or the red one?  :)  I have a blue TC that i'm gonna transplant a 306 into.

I love both cars.  They both have advantages and disadvantages.  I love the sunroof, clutch, and steering feel of the TC and I love the super clean engine bay, horsepower/torque, and sound of the white car.  The turbo 4cyl is intriguing to listen to and fun to drive in its own right, but nothing beats the growl and seat-of-the-pants feel of a V8.

Just stock shorty headers with a summit O/R H pipe and cheap Cherry Bomb Turbo 2 lers.

nice!

I don't hear any whistling....you might hear the tranny whine a little bit when i pull out of my driveway or something but I dont hear anything during the acceleration runs.  Maybe just the open windows?  Or you watched the vid of the Turbo Coupe haha.

I bet you it's the tranny whine I'm hearing. I'm not used to that as I have an AOD ;).

You need to start abusing that thing. Yes yes it's true, I do not care if the silver car's tranny explodes in a blaze of hellfire....but CMONNNNN! Nothing more badass than being sideways in 1st, wide open, slamming 2nd and continuing the burnout. I gotta try and get 3rd too next. I know she'll do it. Let's see THAT in a video. :P

That's the transmission I bet. The camera is right next to it down on the seat.

Nice pair of birdies!

Yeah...I love the tranny whine.  It sounds cool haha.  I don't think the Turbo Coupe does that though, but thats probably because the tranny is in better shape.

Yeah I know; I haven't even started shifting at 5500 yet.  I just wanted to wait a bit and get the 306 well proven before really going crazy on it.  Also, it's not super easy to break these tires loose...the old engine couldnt do it without a hard launch.  The 306 can do it from a roll easily.  I chirped 3rd the other day though, which was awesome.
