It's not yours, why criticize it? Maybe he likes it.
I assume he likes it, it's his car. I didn't criticize it per se' but posting pics on an open forum invites critique. I just commented that i wasn't feeling it. Maybe if he feels the need to show it off he can start a new thread.

I don't mind. I know everyone doesn't like the Ford blue as much as I do :)

Random update. Been rompin in the 306 a bit lately...it's been nothing short of impressive. At one of my favorite spots, I slowly rolled the car out then went WOT in a non-abrupt manner and was shocked when she spun the rear tires all the way through 1st :burnout:  . The Tbird never did that before!!! Needless to say...I was all smiles the rest of the way home hahaha. And she's runnin great still; exactly how I wanted. The low end torque is awesome. Lay into it at 1500rpm in any gear and she'll take right off. Amazing fun driving around town haha.

I'm proud for you. It's been a long time. I was flogging the Sport and when I hit second (about 30mph or so),the car lost all traction when I romped the gas pedal.I gotta work on that.

Yeah mine yanks really hard when I hit 2nd.  With a good shift I'm sure she'll spin em.

Anyways...some finalized pics:

You should look into going with 355s or 373s next.. Just do a tc rear swap.  My old Tbird ran great with 373s on it's 306 combo with the t5. Yeah first gear was short but she was movin like a bat out of hell off the line. With the weight of these cars you really need to get this fat girl movin. Second gear would spin hard, third would chirp everytime..

1st gear is already really short...I have no problems off the line :D .  I hope to have some vids when my friend is back over christmas break.  I like where I'm at as far as rear end and gearing.  The 7.5 is a posi and I have plenty of gear off the line.  The 8.8 is heavy and any shorter gear would make 1st utterly useless (I have the 3.35 1st gear).  I'd never get traction and 1st gear would end at 15mph; I'd lose time at the track.

I had a 3.35 1st gear too, and a more agressive combo.. the 373's made 1st shorter but 2nd,3rd, 4th were stronger after the swap. I guess you need to run it at the track and see what your 60s look like to be sure.

327s are a great street gear.

If you are worried about getting out of the hole, the only way more gear is going to help is with "more tire". Tires would be the better mod. I'd leave the gears alone. Other than that the steeper gears aren't going to bring ET down much.

I'd also start building an 8.8 if you think you're going to drag it, as specially with traction.
