Alternator options?

well, the factory alternator finally died, i need to get one, but i'm not sure which one is best.
Auto Zone has 3 different ones, a 65w,70w and 80w.
what benifit would there be with going with the 80w? i don't have a systen(Yet) no special lighting, basicly a factory setup. cost is a bit of an issue, but i wouldn't mind paying more  if it would help in the long run.

its a later model alt, 130 amp. i got mine out of j/y for $35. told them it was for a 95 v6 mustang. you do need to do some wiring though. not bad to do really i had mine installed and wired in less than 1.5 hours. search for it j cassidy did a nice write up on it.

I appologize if i am the slow kid here, but do more amps make for better performance? is it a hotter spark? I don't want to frustrate anyone, but I just don't understand this one.

No not really, but when you come to stops your lights wont dim and your windows go up and down faster while idling.
