enough of this

Sorry in advance everyone.

I have this little chp on my shoulder because my profile contains a thread to which i was nearly banned but i can not for the life of me figure out why.  I asked for help in this thread .........

http://www.foxtbirdcougarforums.com/showthread.php?t=17623

...and no one has stepped up yet to justify its basis.  For no reasons that i can think of, someone has been a little too agressive with thier power in my opinion.

My offer still stands in the above thread. I thnk that pushing buttons this hard can only yield bad feelings.  All i want is justification and it it cant be provided, then take down my negative profile.
My first thoughts after seeing it were that the mods may not know "how" to make that part go away.  I can understand that to,, just let me know whats going on because it appears to me some people have special prvidges around here.

I appreciate this site and all it has to offer.  I indulge in the occasional debate and healthy interaction on non car topics often and feel others do the same without getting thier hand smacked.

My above thread "Hey RFB" was indirectly directed at the board mods because that is where this problem started.  If the problem started elsewhere, then it should have been revealed to me by now but it was not.  Having a bot play hang man is rude and takes the personal touch away from what this site is about.

Getting threatened to have my legs broken is not taken lightly either.  I know that some of you have defined the parameters of the "bot" but it is disturbing to me that one person being a mod can not explain this.
Race fans,, i make no assumptions in this world and to put it bluntly, i have prvided enough warning in advance to resolve this calmly.

Having the above thread locked was wrong and a direct result of people chiming in jumping in on a conversation that did not concern them nor directed towards them.  Putting in anothers 2cents worth prevented this situation from getting the proper due it diserves.  I did not ever intend to reply to anyone with negative input, i was going to keep it on topic because things like that can drift.

I just find it odd that i can get a profile stain while the other person claiming he also got smacked the same way does not have an infraction on his profile.  DOES THIS PERSON have privledges the rest of us do not?

I can not change the fact that i refuse to take public humilation free of charge.  Some will allow others to walk on them but i will stand up for myself when there is a battle worth fighting.

What you mods do not understand is that my personal reputation is being advertised here and my family across the country keep an eye on this site.  I got a phone call again yesterday asking "what is the deal with that site" from a relative in Alabama.

For some odd reason,, i found myself kinda sticking up for the mods and explaining that these things happen ,, this that and another.

now to go find the delete button on my account ,, but it appears that options has been taken from me as well because i can no longer find it.

Message to everyone,, if this thread has nothing to do with you directly, then dont reply.  You already got my request for help thread locked.  This is for the mods only and since it is foolish nonsense anyway,, why waste YOUR time.

Enough of this indeed. You wanna keep dragging this up, fine, we'll keep it going. By the way, this issue does not affect me as I did not hit you with the infraction, but you seem pretty determined, so I'll give you some answers.

First, the reason for your infraction, so everyone who doesn't know what the hell we're talking about (and that would be everyone except you, me, and whoever left you the infraction): You wrongfully slammed Aerobird Motorsports (Mike) about his military retirement status, even after he provided you with the info you requested. Personally I don't think you had any right to ask for that info, but Mike obliged and gave it to you. I'm not familiar with US military protocol at all, so I didn't know who was right or wrong on such a trivial technicality (and didn't even care - as I told you before, I didn't leave the infraction). What I do know is that Mike's military service is obviously a source of pride for him, and you had no right to deride him. Besides, as you pointed out, Mike also got dinged for his part in the scuffle.

So now we all know why the infraction is there. Now about the consequences of getting an infraction.

First off, you were not even close to being banned. Banning requires 200 points worth of infractions, you received two. You had exactly 1/100th of the points required to be banned. I emphasize "had" because your points were taken back by the person who gave them to you. Even if they had not been taken back they would have expired after two days.

Now about that "damaged reputation". Did it ever occur to you, Scott, that the reason that Mike's infraction is not visible to you is that infractions are private? That's right - only YOU (and moderators) can see your own infractions. You can't see Mike's infractions, and similarly, he can't see yours.

In other words, this whole drama about your "public humiliation"? It's your own doing, because NOBODY ELSE COULD SEE YOUR INFRACTION IN YOUR PROFILE!!!! Nobody would have even known about it had you not repeatedly brought it into the spotlight. Those friends/relatives/whoever who have been looking at your profile and then asking you why you were "dinged" either are hacking the board to get moderator privileges so they can see your top-secret info, or they're lying to you, or they're reacting to your own posts. Your "public humiliation" was, until you made it public, just as private as your PM's.

As I explained to you earlier, RFB (Resident Forum Bitch) is a bot. Its only purpose is to inform somebody when they receive an infraction. "You breaka da rules I breaka you face" is this bot's user title. It is not part of any message directed at you or any other user. Hell, we don't hear Chuck complaining about a user called "Resident Forum Bitch" even though we all know that's his unofficial title. Regardless, the very wording of the user title should be enough to let you know it shouldn't be taken seriously. You continue to take it personally, and there's nothing I can do about that. Tough patooties.

Now then, with everything explained to you: I don't know if you have a "delete account" button or not, but I certainly do. Just give me the word. Be informed, though, that once the account is deleted, it's deleted. It can't be undone. Think it over before you give the word. You've been an upstanding member here from the beginning and I'd hate to see you go, but we don't respond well to "Screw you guys, I'm going home" foolishness.  It's your call.

BTW, pictured below is a screenshot of your profile as seen by any other member. You'll note there is nothing there about any infractions.

I dont know whats visible and whats not visible to the public within a profile.  All i know is that the phone call was to say "how was the holiday and such and the subject about the military thread got brought up.  I told them i had that infraction , they did not say they saw it.  No one that i am aware of is hacking anything.  So since i said none of that, you should know not to call my  family liers.

If my personal profile does not contain info about infractions,, then how could jeremyb see the infraction was reversed?  Im just asking,, and trying to not make enyone upset.
those are your words thunderchicken,, not mine.

Aerobirds military status was appreciated by me in that thread.  I just wanted him to clairfy his many many posts from previous topics where he said "i am also a retired armed forces vet" because i thought for sure he could not have been that old.  Then he explained and i learned someting new.  He implies in various posts that he basically gave uncle sam 20 plus years and never come out and says it although ive asked.  Since your not aware of the US military system, its not your fault.  I suppose that based on a lot of his "partial truths" ive noticed in his past, i was not going to let him take the ranks he implies without explaination.

For your informaiton, "Retired" is traditionally recognized as a person who gave all thier best years to the country.

I also pointed giving details about current command missions is not in the best interest of national security as poorly as it may be,,
Not once did i bash him on anything.  Those are your words, not mine thunderchicken. and still do not knwo the basis of it.

"screw you guys, im going home
Again, these are your words thunderchicken, not mine.

I was told by another member that three points and your banned.
These are my words.  I guess i learned something but it would have been helpful to have cleared that up when i brought it to the attention of you previously thunderchicken et all.

Im allowed to "deride" him cause ive been there and done that so its between us sailors, not you.  Whatever deride means.
your implications,, not mine thunderchicken

Im not picking on you TC,, its just that you and others claim "IVE SAID' a lot and still cant read.  Not nit picking but say what you mean and mean what you say.  You say ive said things then cant back it up to save your lives.  Stop saying i say things i dont.
IT only pushes buttons.

To the rest that replied,, why?  i asked that this be kept to the mods , instead i point out again,,
Attention to detail.

and to shose who replied with bashing,,  dont color the kettle black.

now back to my regularly schduled control arm bushings since i just now got back from pressing them in.  updates to follow.

oh, i can field this one.  :flame:

here is a detail you may have missed; this is a public forum which has a private message system.
if you would like sumthin to remain between yourself and anyone else, you might try using the private message system, lest you get unsolicited replies from the public.

Actually, for military veteran's,(which,I have 5 years active duty under my belt with 14 months in the Persian Gulf in '90/'91),should we,as veterans be a little tougher than the what this fussing and griping shows. My dad always taught me to pick my battles, and to ask,"is it REALLY worth it?".That is why I don't sweat the little stuff. If another member here has a problem with my military history (which hasn't happened....that's an example),I could actually care less. That's my business, and the other person's problem who is questioning me,not mine.I KNOW where I stand, and that's all that's important.Everyone needs to shake hands like adult men, veterans with a little pride for God's sake, and move on.It's bickering like old women.Let's toughen up and get this  over with.Don't we have car stuff we can be talking about,or making fun of the tuner guys, and the Chevy losers?.

I edited my post for more effect. The more I thought about it,the more I just have to shake my head.We have a pretty tight group here. Why screw it up over trivial  that in the long run,is a non-issue.The more I read,I realized something. If I didn't see who was posting,or what forum,I would've sworn it was bickering old women.Stand tall, like a man should, and let this junk slip away and have a peaceful quiet death.

the old board was unmoderated for most of its life.  There were absolutely no problems until people made them problems.
