power door lock ? again Reply #5 – January 09, 2008, 07:15:59 PM I believe mine are under the dash also. Didn't see anything when I pulled the seats out. All I had was this connector that went under the carpetdoes anybody have a pic of the relay in question? There are a bunch of connectors under the pass. seat that do nothing in mine. I assume one would be for the power seat which I don't have.--- the others? Don't know. Quote Selected
power door lock ? again Reply #6 – January 09, 2008, 11:18:15 PM I can get a picture of my relays under the Seat, I never knew they were for the locks LOL i always wondered what they were. Daminc r u changing to Duel power seats? Its not that hard to do lol, once u get the hardness it hooked right up, then when I got the Turbo seats The power lumbar connecters were already there for both sides and worked out :D Quote Selected
power door lock ? again Reply #7 – January 10, 2008, 03:03:06 PM The relays under the passenger seat may be a year-specific thing.I don't recall ever seeing any relays there in my '88 XR-7, but I have two of them there in my '86 XR-7.My power locks have never worked, so I'm not sure if that's where the problem lies. power door lock ? again Reply #10 – January 11, 2008, 10:14:58 PM This is the best view I could get of the relays. This is looking straight up at them from the driver's side floor..almost directly inline with the gas pedal. Oh yeah...pay no mind to the hanging stuff in the background...my master cylinder and booster are out for upgrades at the moment. Quote Selected
power door lock ? again Reply #11 – January 12, 2008, 07:07:45 PM found the problem. a good friend came down after i released my frustration. his shop has mitchell on demand. to make along story short, if your unlock button wont work it is actuallythe LOCK relay that is giving the trouble[and vice versa].the unlock solenoid grounds through the lock relay. and yesthe relays are to the right og the steering column. it alsomentions it in the 88 evtm. thanks for all the help.--irvin toms Quote Selected
