But.......... Ford didn't build the Fiero.

For every burned Fiero, there are fifty Ford bonfires.

Uh, I think the GT slogan is in reference to it being "fire engine red"... Fire engines put fires out/the GT goes fast... get it?

It's not trying to say GT's catch on fire... Because they dont.

it was pretty much only he 4 cylinder (4-tech) fieros that caught fire. pontiac designed that engine in that car to only hold 3 quarts, and not only that but they claimed it could go 4k as opposed to 3k every oil change. (yeah, i kno...:hick: ). most joe shmoes out there never checked thier oil between oil changes and now going 4k miles, there was extra time for leakage. well with almost no oil in there to start with it wasnt long before there wasnt enough to go around. starving the #1 cyl of oil causing it to seize and throwing the rod through the block. now theres a big ol' hole for the antifreeze to dump out on the red-hot exhaust manifold and before you know it. your fiero is toast.

one of the worst designs ever in my opinion.

p.s. the 6 cylinder 'gt's werent nearly as bad for fires as the 4 bangers

I work with a former pontiac engineer and he was telling me something about them running the fuel rail between the exhaust runners on the 4 banger Fieros.

... Explorer, F-150, Focus... and the beat goes on...

I made that GT one over a year ago, when these motivational farces got popular, and I meant that Ford spends more time trying to make their cars go fast than making them fire retardant. For those who wonder what it was trying to say, consider it clarified. :flame:
