Pretty much every panel on my 87 is new, rebuilt, or re constructed. :D

found the little bracket... It never got bolted to the head when the motor got put back together....Not sure I want to take that bolt out to do it..... looking for alternative method to connect bracket.... that is all

Probably goes  to a bellhousing bolt. It's not bolted to the head bolts. Maybe on the back of the head? I don't have any of that bolted to my junk.

def bolts to the front head bolt.... I just clipped them together with it...seems to be fine with out bolting it down, So far

I've had that issue too. The front lower passenger side head bolt should have a stud on top. I just pulled my bolt and swapped in the studded bolt. No issues. I'm sure you won't have any issues as it is. I just wanted the fuel line retainer clippy thing just because.

yea, I'm not pulling those expensive head bolts out for a silly bracket.....anyway.... did some more stuff

here's the little fuel line bracket, all nice and painted



Now I have some good questions...... where does this flippin orange wire go to?


did they make fuel lines that didn't go all the way to the tank? I put the replacement lines in, and there are connectors on these that are not on my other set... my other lines go all the way to the tank with the connectors near the back for the filter. these stop at the filter with 2 connectors....

installed the wiring for the injectors... Radiator, misc parts.. also installed the condenser while the front is apart.

Where does this white vac line go to?

the lines that are connected to the steering rack from the pump...... do they still swivel after the nuts are tightened? or are they supposed to be tight and not move at all?...mine still move after tightening...

Why don't I remember taking half of this stuff off?..... lol

I need new transmission lines.... should I use hard lines or flexible lines? .... I'm also connecting it to a cooler. I'm thinking flex would be easier..

The orange wire on my harness is also "cut" like that...it was on the other Bird I had as well. i think that's from the factory


I used flexible hose for my tranny lines when I had the Aod. Easy to route, and I too had a cooler. Never had an issue in all the years I had it that way. No leaks no worries.

Once the lines are connected to the rack and the pump, yes, they still swivel.

.......oh, and you'd only have to swap one head bolt, not all of them. If you don't want to wast it, drill a hole through the expensive bolt and hang it from the mirror.

Did you use the standard multi-use hose? or did you use stainless braided hose?

No stainless braided hose. Down there, it'll get filthy anyway. I used some Good-Year hose for hydraulic type fluid. Easy to clean, easy to install, VERY durable and strong. Over the years I used it, the hose never cracked or gave me any problems at all.
