The Mark got it in '93 and Ford didn't borrow it and *very* slightly modify it for the Mustang until 96. The exhaust cams are the only ones different and that not by much, intake side is the same. The crank is forged as opposed to cast but the rods and pistons are the same, not much difference in the actual horsepower the engine can sustain. I'm guessing they shot the idiot that designed the Mark exhaust manifolds and put a proper set on the Mustang. The intake is just a better design for a much lighter car. As far as I'm concerned a "Cobra motor" didn't really happen until 2003 when they actually made major changes in design - improved heads (in 99) and then and iron block with an all forged rotating assembly.Of course Moose's owner has had it long enough to know it's tough to educate the masses. Reply #5 – December 10, 2007, 01:31:48 PM So how does a "chip", larger MAF, cold air "box" and nothing else on a non-forced induction car with stock exhaust get 50 hp over stock? The "box" and MAF look like stock Ford pieces to me in those pics.....Dynotuned to hell and back would get 30-35 horse.....50? hmmmm...... Quote Selected

Reply #6 – December 10, 2007, 10:45:06 PM All nitpicking aside, if I was in my 70's and about to retire back in 1997, I'd buy one of these cars and have fun with it. Except mine would be black. Cuz lincolns look good in black. Quote Selected
