Does anyone know where you can buy repacement drivers side floor pans for a 1984 t bird ?
Are ones for a 84 mustang the same?

nope nobody makes replacments for them yet, and the pans are different, that is why I have put the restoration of my '85 aside for now...  it looks like you can make the stang pans fit, I dropped a new one inside mine on top....  they are close enough that it could be possible, but you would have to change both sides or it would look funny with different patterns on either side...

thx,I have a few small rust spots (holes)under the drivers seat and on the transmission tunnel near the firewall. I guess I will cut out the bad and make/weld in patches.
I dont expect that there will ever be replacement floor pans, parts are getting hard to get for these cars. You dont usually get them unless they fit a mutang. Parts i couldnt get this week were front brake flex hoses and power steering supply line.

I don't have a clue to what you are talking about. I work at a parts store and I can get both front Flex brake lines and the power steering pressure hose. Maybe you just need a real parts store near you. I haven't had any problem finding regular replacement parts.

Technically...the floorpans for our cars carry a Mustang part number:
Front Floor Pan - E7ZZ-6111135-A

The 'ZZ' is almost always indicative of a Mustang-engineered part.

The other parts of the floorpans are unique to our cars:
Front Floor Member - E3SZ-6310692-A
Rear Sidemember (R/L) - E7SZ-6310534/5-A
Inner Floor Sidemember (R/L) - E3SZ-6310116/7-A
Rear Floor Pan - E4SZ-6311215-A
Rear Pan Extension (R/L) - E3SZ-6311250/1-A

Those are all T-Bird/Cougar part numbers; I don't believe any were shared with the Mark VII due to the lengthened wheelbase of that car. Also notice that the model years are different, as the later parts (E7 - 1987) superceded the earlier ones.

So by the book, we have Fox Mustang front floorpans. In reality we know that they are physically different. But as RJ mentioned, it looks to be possible to fit one in. I don't know how that would affect the seat mounting points.

so it may be possible to use mustang front pans if you needed a partial pan repair? with a little modifying of course.

That's because the parts guy was an idiot....

With these cars, like many of Ford's orphans, it's better to arm yourself with all the knowledge BEFORE you go looking for parts and don't rely on one of the parts monkeys to figure it out for you.

Those two parts you listed are the same as for a Mustang....

I do think that that brake hoses are different. The end that goes into the caliper on the bird/coug ones threads right into the caliper where the stang version has the metal block that bolts to the caliper with those copper washers. Not so sure on the PS line. Wagner brake line part number F110132 for the bird/coug's  F123829 for the stang's NON SVO . hope that helps though

The brake lines are the same at the caliper.  ALL the 10" calipers do not use the banjo fitting. (The 11" calipers use the banjo fitting and not the direct threaded fitting)

The difference may come at the body side now that I think about it.  The Tbirds/Cougars use a 3/8-24INF fitting, while the Mustangs use a 7/16-24INF one.  This is where knowing your car and not trusting the parts guy to know it comes into play.  You can use an adapter fitting on the body end to make the Mustang lines work.

Hey what can I say I can't know it all all the time.I was wrong about what end and such. I was right they are different. I work all day with lots of people with lots of different parts. Many different numbers and many different parts. I'm sure if you were here and walked in my store you would leave with what you needed. Those lines bird/coug or the stang ones are a on shelf item at my store also. That PS hose have it in stock.
