What fuel pump would u suggest? November 24, 2007, 11:19:16 AM I heard these stock fuel pumps suck, and I`m puttin E7 heads on my tbird and an E303 cam in it this summer with bigger injectors and computer. what pump would you recommend? My 3700lb 20th went 13.7 @ 102 MPH (~ 270 RWHP) when it was N/A using the stock SO pump. That was a 9.7:1 compression P-headed combo that had excellent accleration too (as the track times verify). OTOH, since technically a 70 lph pump is only good for about 225 flywheel HP, I would advise upgrading the pump to at least a 110 lph pump (~350 FWHP) on N/A HO conversions. Follow these steps.1. horsepower x .5 = lbs fuel/hr2. lbs fuel/hr / 7 = gallons/hr3. gallons/hr x 1.3 = minimum capacity of pump in gallons/hr step 3 adds 30 percent to the total to allow for friction losses in the plumbing,etc.so a 300 hp engine requires in gph?1. 300 x .5 =1502. 150 / 7 =21.433. 21.43 x 1.3 = 27.86 gph @ your required operating pressure Quote Selected

What fuel pump would u suggest? Reply #11 – November 30, 2007, 01:03:40 AM Heating fuel isn't the issue with a 255. At idle will you use the full capacity of a 155 on a stock HO? Many people throw 155's on them.The issue is with a 255 you NEED an AFPR because the stock FPR diaphram cannot hold back the volume of fuel a 255 puts out when a car is lumping along at idle. Fuel pressure will actually creep up.If that's all your looking to do performance wise with the additional little thing maybe down the road the 155 will more than suffice. Quote Selected

I'm glad I'm using a 190lph with a BAP (Boost-A-Pump.) I was using a 155lph with BAP when I hit the 11's at the track. That's about 525 HP at the flywheel. Oh, and the bigger the pump, the more fuel circulated and the more it's heated. Quote Selected
