And this is why...

"Hey hoser let's go see if we can trash some cars."

"Are you joking?  It's 30 below out there!  You go trash cars.  I'm staying inside where it's warm and I can listen to Rush while watching the Leafs game and drinking Molson in my Mounty uniform."  :giggle:

I'm sorry to hear about your car man. Some of you may remember when my car got broken into ( Back when i Was 88birdman38)  Some assclown had punched through the doorlock to get into the car  instead of breaking the window, and tore up the entire car getting my stereo out.  Destroyed the door.. i couldnt beleive it...it was the only one I had that wasnt rusted on the bottom!  I Eventually found out who did it..... When I was looking through the calssified adds for car stereos (Dint have the paper for a brand new one).  I Went to see the radio in person, and sure enough, it had the same serial number and missing ground wire that my stolen one did!  I think I must have scared the guy sensless, because while chewing him out, a dark stain spread accross his pants! :giggle:  He actually pissed himself right in front of me!  :shakehead  So instead of beating his ass, I just called the police and let them deal with him. He was linked to at least 5 other break ins around the area after a while. And I did get damages from him....about 1100 dollars total. :dunno:

Chris;

That really sucks.  Maybe a car alarm wouldn't be too bad an idea with that many things happening to it.  I remeber you pointing out one of the decals on the trunk had been messed up when I saw your great looking car.

But car alarms tend to false alarm too much that may cause you other headaches.

Too bad we can't electrify the vehicle body like in the movies.

dont be so quick to admit fault my fellow kentucyian.........Canada's rate of car vandal situations has historically matched and exceeded  the US.  its not the people but the congestion that is the issue.

Aaaaaaaactually...
I had always been working on an idea similar to that.
I wanted to hook up a huge capacitor to the door handles on my '88 XR7 (they were metal).
The only thing that stood in my way was arming the system, and the chance of shocking my friends/family if they forgot about it.

Now I have the '96 with the plastic handles, so the project has gone awry...

Thanks everyone.  It looks like it's high time I get an alarm on the car.  It would be cheaper than chaining ravenous dogs to all for snowflakes.

I could deal with eggs being thrown at the car...hell add some bacon and I'll eat it.  But bending/scratching/breaking glass/etc. is just out of hand.  I spend so much time on the car - it's my hobby!

To find good donor parts like that TC sway bar, sand it, prime and paint it with high gloss paint (which wasn't cheap) and have someone ruin it is just lame. That bar was actually a gift from my Ford-driving cousin.  I put that bent bar in the trash and it was like a big dumb twisted bit of strange looking metal near the curb.

Power antennas are a bitch.  I lowered it and I'm not even going to bother with it. It doesn't go up anymore, but the tape deck works.

Come spring those windows will be down and it'll be the sweet music of the open road I'll be listening to!

That blows man when i was a kid all i wanted was a nice car so the idea of ****ing someone else up for fun never came up, for other reasons ie cheating girlfriend etc.  Sure why not the bastid loves his new mustang.  See how he likes it with a tootsie roll in the ler or some dead fish attached under the doors inside if possible.  Is there anyone who might not like you dude.  I caught some middle eastern guy that i had beat down in a parking lot cause he thought i was looking at his girl, long story.  Anyway about a week later i found him trying to key my Grand Marquis so i whupped him like i was his daddy and sent him on his way w/o his car keys.
