Cobra and HO duration...?

From what I've found,
GT(HO) = .444 lift
Cobra = .451 lift

What is the duration for both of these cams?

IIRC HO cam durration @50 is 210*I/210*E

Also the HO cam is actually more aggressive than the Cobra cam.

From what I've found the Cobra cam produces more torque then the HO Cam, but the HO has 15ish more hp.

Going from SO to HO cam would I notice a decent increase in power?

How would the SD be with a B303 cam?

HO cam figures are with 1.6 rockers.  Cobra is with 1.7.

93 Cobras were rated @235 HP, about 40 HP underated.  Different heads and intake were the main reason.  A Cobra motor with an HO cam and the Cobra 1.7 rockers would have been an even better combo from the factory IMHO.

Go with the HO cam.  Back it up with some 1.7 ratio roller rockers and have a ball!

Well, the bottom end is being rebuilt since it start knocking.

I figure why not do a cam and a stall at the same time?
So, looks like it will be a HO motor without the upper basically, with Hooker Supercomps(Shorties, they were free!!) and a stall rated from 2000-2600.

Should move the pig somemore...:hick:

Anyone know about running a b303 though?

My understanding the initial cobra cam was suppose to be more aggressive but the motor idled to lumpy ford built the motor around the 1.7 RR so they wanted a less aggressive cam the cam they chose was the cam commonly put in 91&92 5.0 tbirds and cougars. That’s right the exact cam.

That's what I'm running in my cougar...picked up big time...my problem is the 1.7rr's I bought didn't come with shims so they are currently pre-loading the lifters about .120", which is about 4 times too much pre-load...it gets pretty lazy around 3200rpm...I think it'll be much happier when I put the stock rockers back in.

The HO cam was just a poorly designed cam for the E7's due to the fact it has 10* more intake duration than exhaust duration and the E7's have itty bitty exhaust valves...I can tell you that the HO cam runs great with '93 Cobra heads though, courtesy of the larger exhaust valves.

Speaking of cam specs, I don't suppose anyone has the lift, duration, and duration @ .050 information for the roller 5.0 SO motor's cam, do they?  Just curious as to exactly how small it is compared to the HO cam.
