Windshield wiper???

My windshield wipers are stuck almost half way up on the windshield. Normally when I turn them off, they pause for a moment before going all the way down, which I have always assumed was normal. now when I turn them off they stop just far enough up that they are right in my line of sight.The delay stopped working as well. If I leave them on delay, they only move about once every 10 min. If I turn them all the way off,there is a humming sound coming from under the dash. I've stood on my head looking and feeling under the dash & I can't seem to find anything. Is there a relay above the fuse block that could be shot or maybe the wiper switch itself. They are starting to drive me nuts!!

Up under the dash,on the driver side,there's a metal support bar (to the left of the steering column).Bolted to it,theres a little plastic box (module) for the wipers.It's probably your problem.There's a harness that goes to it.

mine just started doing something like this the other day except my intermitten settings still works. i hope this aint going to cost big $$$ like my mustang wiper box did:beatyoass:

there are a couple things that could go wrong. The wiring up through the handle for the delay may have come undone ,, the wiper swtch itself and the module pointed out already.

if your good with wiring/electronics then you can figure it out. My problem was the wiring in the handle for the delay which stopped working due to loose connection. I swapped out the entire handle/switch assembly which fixed the problem.

Try standing on your head better, that wiper module is way wayyyyyy the heck up in there.

Thanks for the info. I'm going to try to find the time to tear into it this weekend . jcassity, your probably sick of people asking, but where & how did you EVER get your hands on a book like that? That thing is gold!!!:D :D

i bought the books here,,, 8'' stack of shop manuals and the evtm. The shop manuals are sick:D each sheet of paper in the shop manuals is like tissue paper , litterally about 6 thousand pages of stuff. There are a lot of people (@25)on the board here who have a copy i sent em when they particpated in the EVTM lotto in the lounge.

i might start one up again.

I really wasn't trying to be funny. You just caught me off gaurd on that one. Made me think about it for awhile. That's hard to do at 2:00 am when I just get home from work.

and I agree, an EVTM is worth it's weight in gold when ya need to chase down a bug.
I bought mine off evilbay though :hick:
