DHL Shipping

I purchased a part from a guy who lives in Ohio.  DHL is a problem.  He shipped this on 10/4 with expected delivery on 10/10.  The cam went from OH to PA to DE to UT to CO to UT and now it's back in OH.  They are having a bit of problem finding WA state.  At least I seem to know that they did not loose it.  Never had a problem with FedEx, knock on wood.  History to date, bottom to top.

Anybody else have problems with DHL|?

It took them 20 days to send the thing back to where it started? Man that's bad :(

I use DHL for all of my large/heavy shipping Ted. Every once in awhile they've taken too long, but never this bad! Maybe since I ship out of WA instead of into WA.

Honestly, I'd call Customer Service and start raising some cane!

That's crazy!  I've had stuff shipped to me several times with DHL and it is usually much faster and cheaper than FedEx/UPS/Speedie.  I'm not sure what to tell you.

Recent problem with DHL here also. This problem wasn’t quite as bad and not sure I can point the finger at DHL. My digital was sent in for repair and when it was sent back they used DHL and required a signature. Since DHL only delivers to my house a 4:30 pm it made it nearly impossible to get. Twice we tried to be there to receive it and missed them.. Twice we were there to receive it and they didn’t show (forgot to put it on the truck)… finally three weeks later I had to drive to there office and get it. What a pain in the butt, however I’m not sure if any of the others would have done any better to accommodate my schedule.

It's probably some moron who put it on the wrong truck who's thinking Washington D.C. instead of Washington state. Even though the bill clearly displays the correct destination, if the people loading the trucks aren't paying attention it'll end up in the wrong spot.

Looks like it's on its way back towards you. Hopefully you'll get it soon.

That's messed up...Wilmington, OH is between Columbus and Cincinnati, in SE Ohio. North Jackson is on the other side of the county from me, in NE Ohio. That package made a loooooong round trip...and didn't even return to where it started out!

Besides, with a zip code that begins with 9, ANYONE in the shipping business should know the package is going to the NW part of the USA. There is really no way to confuse Washington, DC with Washington state when you look at the zip code.

So yeah...I don't get it...that definitely doesn't inspire confidence in DHL.

fixed it ;)

Reminds me of that one scene in Tommy Boy.
Tommy: R.T., I think I figured it out the problem. This order is going to Columbus. That's a one-day delivery, but you've got it marked down for two.
RT: That's because it's going to Columbus, Georgia. Not Columbus, Ohio. You see these letters by the city? That's called a state. What else you got, Wonder Boy?

DHL doesn't look very appealing to me as a shipping service.

All of their vans look like junk, they're all beat up, sed up and py looking.

Plus today we had a DHL come in here to our work and he came flying down in front of our building doing about 35, between a tree and some parked cars. Friggin' idiot.

My only experience with DHL is a box full of shattered glass.

And yes, their vans are all other companies rejects, beat to , rusty, no exhaust or exhaust hanging to the ground...

One of the reasons for py looking trucks is that DHL uses contract drivers and they must furnish their own vehicle. I don't know how they do their sorting, but it sounds like it is contract workers or from a temp service.

I wonder if this contracting is part of the problem.  Around Nebraska and Minnesota, all the DHL trucks I've seen are in better shape than their competitors.  Perhaps that is why DHL seems great around here and other people have such horrible experiences with them.  Or maybe I'm just lucky :D

Well today it made it to Washington, not to my house but to Washington.  Maybe they flew it out after I complained because it got here from Ohio pretty fast.  Chehalis is only 30 miles away, I hope that now it does not go to CA or something.
