oh boy... you guys aren't going to believe what I did....

Yesterday, I was backing into my parking space in our driveway there happens to be a pipe of some sort (looks like an old gas pump with a crank handle). Well, I was using my mirrors as I always do for backing up, and I misjudged where the pipe handle was..... :dunno:

There is now a scratch, down to the metal, on the rear passengers side of the Cat. The scratch, is about 8" long, actually there are two from when I had to pull away from the  pipe.....

So, how can I fix this temporarily, until we can get her painted?
Roger suggested nail polish, wither in a color close to the color of the paint, or clear.
Is there anything else I can use so it doesn't start to rust?

Find some primer and touch up in the nail polish size bottles at an auto parts store (or dealer if you can't get a match). Spread it in there with a toothpick, plastic ones work best for me. With a little patience and maybe some polishing no one will know it's there but you.

They have a touch up kit at Pep Boys that includes a bottle of clear coat touch up, polish, and find sand paper.

Use touch up paint till it is higher then the surrounding paint, sand down, then clear, then polish.  I did it in a deep gouge on my Cougar's old front bumper.  The only way you could tell something was wrong was because the paint didn't match perfectly.

Chickens!

Are you guys forgetting “Women’s Lib” and the whole “just because I have a pen 15, does not mean I’m better than you” and the “anything a man can do a woman can do” that I have called BS on guys on this site a time or two . (And I believe LittleAngels comment was something to the effect of “you go Jim”)

Well I firmly believe that BS, and have became willing to embrace it….

However, It’s a two way street… She dented the car she can now get her “equal rights” “do anything a man can do” “able to vote” “you go Jim” pretty little fanny out there and fix the  dent!

Homey don’t play that “Equal Rights, Woman Power…..(unless were talking about taking out the garbage then that’s MENS work)” .

So looking forward to hearing how that repair job goes Angel… We want PIC’S

p.s.
And YES the toilet seat stays UP at my house, and I also cook, do laundry and the dishes. YAY Women’s lib… I love it!

Actually Jim.... I would do it myself, however, my husband is the type who thinks that shouldn't have to work on cars or run power tools.  :shakeass:

BTW, Jim, there is no dent... it's a scratch
I will be happy to fix the scratch. If I can do the sanding on it, since I've been in tremendous pain this week. I said "we' because we are married, 'we' is the marital unit we have together. We both own the car, so we will fix it together.

I've never ever said that one thing or other is a man's job or a woman's job. I also never burned my bra for equal rights. Just because I can do something doesn't mean I will do it, or that my husband wants me to do it.  i respect him. He is the head of the household. He treats me as an equal, however, he is in charge. I like it that way.

Ummm RJ, since when is a scratch considered a car accident?

Hey, if I wanted to be a biatch about it, I have full coverage on it, I could turn it in to insurance and have it repaired! :D
