Best bang for the buck

Hey ya'll. I'm going to put a clutch in soon w/new flywheel and bearing. Anyone found a good deal on a stout clutch set. Running a T3-T4, not stock ,need much grip. :burnout:

Can you feather it or is it like an on off switch?

it doesnt like to be slipped alot, but the PP isnt so heavy it cant be street driven with ease.
i put 40K street miles on it before i tore everything down. i will run it again here very soon.

What are your REAL power levels now, and you goals?

My 88 TC was running a little north of 300 HP, 5200 rpm launches off a two step at 10 psi boost on ET streets at 3500#'s. I ran the RAM replacement clutch in that car for about 160 passes, and 8K street miles, no mercy. That clutch was a real dream, drove like stock, held real well at that power level. I loved that clutch, and lots of other guys that have followed my lead seem happy with it too. ((~$140.00 from Summit)

Now, I put the same clutch in my Capri, it worked well for a while at a little higher power level. I swapped injectors to 55#'s and did a little tuning, and it slipped like mad. It wasnt the clutch, I was just driving right through it as it just didnt have enough clamp load. The clutch I removed is in my bussies car, and still making passes today, he is happy with it. I ended up going withthe Spec 3+ in the Capri, its held everything I can throw at it, but it is sort of off / on. I drive the car a lot, and am used to it, but anyone that tries to drive the car stalls it a lot. It seems like the line is about 340 HP or so, once i crossed that, it wouldnt hold. I use the term HP here, but its actually torque that make them slip, just no good way to pull torque from ET/MPH (Spec 3+ ~$400.00)

i've always had good luck with spec, but it's more of an on/off switch, like you said.  centerforce makes a good product too.

RAM standard replacement for less then 250HP

RAM Powergrip (regular style disc) for 250-350

RAM Powergrip HD (6-puck) for 350+ or 30+ psi (on/off switch, NO slippage).

I've driven and raced all 3 in either my personal TC's or friend's cars. I love them all. Had a RAM in my SHO and now in my Nissan truck as well.
