it sucks to be broke Reply #3 – October 02, 2007, 12:19:18 AM i just got done doing bills. wife has to go to columbus oh here in a couple weeks and bla bla bla. I am new to doing the bills since shes done them for the past 16 years. Its frustrating to say the least. Now my 30 year old fridge is breaking down, need oil changes in all three cars, added the 20th to the insurance and got the bill due by the 8th calling for 360 bux for 12mos , list goes on but oh well. Still dont have any cash saved for christmas either since i just started this job last apr. It took some time to settle back in to getting paid and all. Now that i have the bills, things are gong to be tighter cause ill want to pay things down. You know , be the bad guy adn all. Quote Selected

I've got one and a 12V compressor in the truck and the Saturn. But yeah, being broke sucks ass. My car is still in pieces and in primer because every time I se up some extra $$ I can always think of something more important to spend it on (like $700 worth of firewood and $400 worth of furnace oil, f'rinstance). Remember, though: The economy is doing great and we're all spending way more "discretionary" money - at least according to the rick folk... Quote Selected
it sucks to be broke Reply #7 – October 02, 2007, 10:27:25 AM for once in my life i'm actually financially stable. my wife and i both make enough money that we don't have to worry about things. it's a nice change of pace. i used to live paycheck to paycheck, but now, i've got a savings account that's doing very well, a high interest money market account that holds the bulk of our money, and the checking account to pay bills and have some spending cash that hasn't dipped below $3,000 in almost 2 years, on top of all that, i've got the 401K that's starting to yield some serious dollars. it's so nice not having to worry. the amount of stress that i'm no longer under in amazing. yes, being broke sucks major ass. i remember back in the day when i used to live off of ramen and hot dogs. i was sooooo broke that i couldn't pay any of my bills and got evicted. i actually lived in my truck for 3 months before i was able to se up enough to rent a shiznitty apartment. that was definitely an eye opener as to the way things really were and how i was NOT going about things in the right way at all. it's only gotten better since that point. wow... it's only been 5 years since all that . it's amazing to see how far you can go in such a short time if you're bound and determined to better yourself and your situation. it sucks to be broke Reply #9 – October 02, 2007, 12:36:49 PM I left a high paying job to be near my family and back in God's garden. Things are more than tight now, but we're home and we're happy. Our business isn't making us rich, but it's covering the bills my job doesn't..... just. And the hardest thing to accept is that the T-bird hasn't had a cent put into it in two years. Quote Selected

it sucks to be broke Reply #13 – October 02, 2007, 02:36:59 PM Tell me about it. I dont even have bills yet, and I already feel the pressure of being broke. Can't finish my car, get the title, insure it, or register it. Quote Selected

And I used to do this for a living. But I'm at work an next door is a tire shop. It was either take it next door and pay the five bucks (five seventy with taxes) or wait until lunch to drive to town on a flat, buy the kit, and repair it on the car in the parking lot, somehow getting air back in the tire again. :hick: Yes, I could have swapped my spare before going to town, but now lunch is down to......... wait, I'm late for work now.
