... it's not working. it was a site made by a guy who thought that the 9-11 attacks were funny and the the people that died deserved what they got. he had pictures mocking the attacks and stupid jokes that were the farthest thing from funny.

looks like it was just a rouse.

Hello,

This is Hank, from 911wasfunny.com. The reasoning behind this site was basically to see how quickly I could invoke anger across the internet, as well as to see how much money could be made on such an offensive, awful project. I'll say that I succeeded.

Suffice to say, over the course of 3 weeks, I pulled down about a million hits, and I made about $2000, which will be donated to 9-11 Search and Rescue Dog Medical Surveillance, an organization that I believe to be doing amazing things.

A lesson can be learned from this. If you say the right things, you can get the media to play into your hands. If we ignore certain controversial people, they will go away.

This is done, and the domain will expire in a year.

Thank you,
Hank

A lesson can be learned from this. If you say the right things, you can get the media to play into your hands. If we ignore certain controversial people, they will go away. To the families, survivors, and those affected by 9/11. I'm sorry for your loss. 9/11 wasn't funny, it was a horrible tragedy. Take action to make sure that it never happens again... think before you vote.

To the Git-R-Done crowd from the southern US: Vinyl decals on your truck, with a crying eagle, superimposed on the twin towers is JUST as bad as the content previously on this site. Someone was capitalizing on tragedy. Flag companies are just as bad.

This is done, and the domain will expire in a year. This has nothing to do with the death threats that were coming my way. I got a kick out of those of you who would threaten violence to silence someone in a "free" country. Basically, it's run it's course, I got the reaction I was looking for, and now I'll move on to a better project. For now, I'm going to eat a samosa, and listen to a David Cross CD.

Thank you,
Hank

Funny how you edited the appropriate criticism of the RW morons who use 9/11 to their advantage trying to manipulate people into being scared or loyal. I guess that was the hard-core showing through - shameless!

@ cougar5.0--Well as much as that technically is making money off of a tragedy, obviously those people want to display their feelings and that does it for them.

Not everyone has that kind of creative talent/materials/tools/time so it works out for them. Too bad those decal co's cant be not-for-profit org's or something. Cuz I do like those decals very much.

re the site---I dont know if im more angry that the guy picked 9/11 to use for his "experiment" or that he did this "experiment" at all. Find a GOOD use for your time and effort. Of COURSE people are gonna get angry fast, thats like asking if the fire department will eventually end up at your house if you set it on fire.

Completely unnecessary, and as turboranger said...a lot of nerve.

Being from the south, i suppose my comment is not allowed as im grouped into a slot of those whose breath is worthless,,,but,,,,,,,i have to say it....

I saw a packet of those decals at a flea market,, flipped over the pack and "made in india" just seemed so ironic.

If this guy was serious about 9/11 being funny it would be pointless to send hate mail as that would be exactly what he would have been aiming for anyway. People who enjoy seeing others suffer thrive on attention. Think about the terrorists.

Either way, the great thing about this Country is that people have the right to say things like this.

A great person once said

"I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."

I salute all of my fallen comrades from every war for holding true to that quote. A country is only as great as it's people, and fortunately the US an Canada have the greatest people in the world.

(emphasis mine)

Huh? Not hardly. I've lived in PA for 30 years, The Bronx before that, but my birth certificate says Commonwealth of Virginia (pretty darn close to WV, too). I just wasn't there long enough for my accent to stick :dunno:

(yes, *sometimes* I say "iggles" and "wuter". I try to resist it but 30 years is a long time...)

I've lived on both sides and I know and work with people from both sides. Perhaps as a result I tend to see both sides. You breath isn't worthless with me, at any rate.

EDIT: You do realize that WV is technically a northern state? :D
