The truck is BACK!

I just picked the Nismo back up. Brand new clutch kit, new input shaft, new bearings/seals, new synchros, and a new cluster. $1600 and change, but it was worth it! I miss the kick of that little fella with the 4.88 gears and 4x4. I already played in the mud :hick:

Now I don't have to rely on a TC for DD duties anymore, which means I won't have to walk anymore!

And as for the "Official" cause of breakage, the main bearing that holds the input shaft started coming apart allowing the input shaft to "wiggle". That's the noise the stupid thing made since I bought it. So when it went it sheared all the teeth from the input to the cluster, exploded the bearing THROUGH the front cover, and wiped from there.

The shop did good though. They replaced the rear main in the engine while they were there and the clutch is actually a new Nissan unit instead of some re-man Chinese BS. Drives really nice. I'm very happy! (Wallet isn't :( )

Considering I only paid $1700 for Layla, yeah it was tough. But in the end it's worth it. Replacement trans (rebuild shops) were $1500 by themselves, this way I know the trans is still the correct one, and I saved a ton of $$$ in labor by doing it half myself. 6 month warranty on labor, 1 year on parts too.

Hey it's paid off this month, so a few "extra" payment are really NBD. I'm still in the truck for far less then it's worth.
