Electronic climate control

Hi guys...I am new to cool cats and have problem. I have the 87 xr7 with the electronic climate control. The control has started to not operate correctly. It has started flashing and it runs however it wants. This problem seamed to have accured at the same time I noticed the heater core leaking. I have sinsce changed heater core and prob still there. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Chuck

Thanks v8demon That url will really help. I had no clue that was available. Now to isolate the prob.
