:mad: THIS GARBAGE IS STARTING TODAY AND THE JUSTIFICATION IS SO WEAK!!! IMAGINE HOW MANY DEATHS AND ACCIDENTS ARE GONNA START. YOU JUST WAIT LOOK OUT EVERYONE THE IMAGE OF A TRUCKER WILL DEGENERATE FURTHER BECAUSE OF THIS AND THIS COMES WITH THE "TIGHTENING" OF OUR BORDER.

That's BS!!!!!!!! As a former Trucker, this really bugs the piss out of me!! Evidently it doesn't matter what the american people/companies think or say. Let alone proven through many experiences within that 25 mile allowence.  Without the added man power needed to inspect the 5k mexican trucks that pass thru just 2 of the border crossings, our highways are going to be more dangerous to travel, especially in the southern states.  On the lighter side though, I wonder how many of the stolen trucks that are being driven in Mexico, will be driven back into the US??

I'm guessing that at least the Texas DPS is gonna be all over those trucks from Mexico. I bet they're gonna get shut down right and left. If you think the trucks are bad you should see the Mexican trailers.

The thing that concerns me is the driver logs. A mexican driver can drive up to the border after say 12 hours of driving, pencil in his log and keep right on going.

They're trying to justify it by saying that American trucks can go into Mexico now... Well that's BS! No American trucking company will send their trailers down to Mexico anyway for the simple reason that there is too much theft. For example, the major trucking company I work for used to have trailers that ran into Mexico. We had to weld steel mesh over all the lights and they still got ripped off. Also every time a trailer came back from Mexico it had 8 bald or flat tires on it. They'd rip off our decent tires and put thier worn out  on. So that "former DOT offical" that CNN had on knows nothing what-so-ever about the real world.

This thing is a bad deal all around... Thanks alot Bush.
