Need to do alittle bit of venting...

I just need to tell someone how big of a :hick:  i've been the last year or so. Last year I got pulled over in my black car (beat to  86 5.0 with nearly 300,000 miles...)I had no plate on the car and an expired temporary tag. I was actually driving to the dmv to try to get it registered. I got pulled over and the car ended up getting impounded. I payed nearly $700 to get it out. I had to pay $200 to get insurance on it in my name, a title transfer, towing and storage fee's, and another temp tag to get a release on the car.

Right after I got it back, my ride to work hit a deer and rendered his car useless. I ended up driving the car and spent so much money on gas (the car lost overdrive) that I couldnt afford to license it legally. I drove it for almost 2 months driving it that way. I kept insurance on it and tried my hardest to get it to pass, but it wasn't going to with how close the engine was to it last leg. I got pulled over and I guess my license was suspended from a $10 no change of address ticket I got when I was 16. They also gave me a ticket for no insurance ($400 minimum) So they took the car and never gave me any contact information. I eventally tracked it down and managed to wrestle it out one more time. I dont even remember how much money I spent to get it out. probably near $1000.

I decided to get the car out rather then pay all my bills. I didnt pay a warent I had out for no insurance a couple of months before. I drove my dad's bike to work after my car broke down on my way to work. The bike wasn't legal, but I needed to get to work on time and had no other way to get there. Long story short, I ended up with a warrent, which made it so I couldn't show up to court with my newer no insurance ticket without first taking care of the last one. I now owe the courts $1600 all together and neither court will accept any type of payment arrangement, and I can't show up to pay either ticket or come up with the full amount to pay all at once.

I was planning on moving in with my fiance, to a trailer park, but they won't let me live there because of these warrents. I won't have a place to live as of nov 1st, and I cant come up with the money in time to pay off my warrents. I think I fvcked myself over pretty good here. I'm thinking that maybe I can live off of peanuts and throw all $1200 I will get by november 2nd and get a $400 title loan on my newly aquired thunderbird. I'm also going to volenteer for any out of state or overtime work I can, but it will be fairly unlikeyl I will get anything over 40 hours. I will be able to pay it off quickly, like in two weeks, but its gonna be hard. I really royally screwed myself here. I wish I would have just let that car go way back when instead of hold onto it for another couple of months.

I can barely sleep at night and I am doing everything I can to try to make it right. I think I'm gonna go kill my last pack of smokes for at least a month while listening to my bird purr in the drive way.
Sorry to clog you guys up with person post lately...

Sounds like a movie JOEDIRT II

Sorry just joking I know you down on your luck but just take things one day at a time right now. Things aren’t going to disappear over night so remember it will take a few months. And one day you will laugh even harder.

well now
looks like your in a pinch.  Park your car in a safe place along with stuff you want to keep.

take you butt down to the courthouse and request a magistrates hearing.  The fine you got for suspended license can be changed and the court knows how to do that.

once thats taken care of , the fines are greatly reduced and you can make progress on each.

You also need to call the DMV and ask to speak with someone technical on your driving record and all.  Sometimes people pay their fines and such but dont realize there are associated DMV reinstatment fees tied to the moving violations.

If you want all this done and over with by end of this year,, get yourself infront of the law monday.  Explain to your work exactly what you said here, if it costs time off from work, and possibly loss of job, in all reality it has to happen.  Your caught in a catch 22 where you need to work but have lost the "privledge" to do so.  Your employer needs to know so they dont expect you to drive.

I just helped a friend of mine in the exact same situation.  He did not know what to do.  Basically i made all the phone calls for him to "discover" who / what / when / where / why / how much ect.  I talked first with a DMV and asked to speak to someone who could help and was transfered to an advisor.  If you dont have long distance calling or a limited plan that prevents this, you need to reach out to for help for phone calling capablity elsewhere.

if your ...........
male
white
single
with a job or without
able to work

dont expect any monetary assistance for much of anything.  The very best you can do is let it all out to the magistrate after you call dmv and find out what is on record.

If you continue on your current path, its paved with failure.  Right now you feel like your at the bottom but down deep you do know things can get worse.  Telling the right audience this story will save you peace of mind.  Take it one step at a time and it all starts with your suspenion of driving.  Fix that and take it from there.

lay out all your problems on paper while sitting by yourself.  Just make a list.  Now take another clean piece of paper and lay out the biggest problem that effects you and your ability to work in a legal fashion.  Find the biggest problem and list it first and focus on it like a blood hound.  If you get arrested while seeking help at the court, then so be it.  Its likely you wont though and if os, just over night.

Ya know, last Friday I got a bit irritated at this forum due to the punk kids that like to come on here with there “look what happened, the world is picking on me! Come on everybody feel sorry for me” stories.
I started typing a rant that I never finished and now Haystack starts this thread.
I’m going to replace that rant with this post. My post first described my limited experience with Forums dating back to the mid 1980’s and I was administrator of a Fidonet BBS running over a dedicated phone line connected to a 300baud modem. And in all that time NEVER I have seen so much childish behavior as what I see on this site. I believe the reason for this is the ease of obtaining one of these cars. Prices are low and anybody can get one to start with.. the other site I currently frequent is the cobra web site and those car values start around 25k, whining cry babies don’t have that kind of $ (is my assumption to anyway) On that site you whiners would be eaten alive. The admins wouldn’t restrict them; they would have to protect them!!

Here is one of the main paragraphs of the message:
SOME of you that are in your early 20’s or late teen’s really need to grow up and start taking responsibility for your actions. Your adults now not preschoolers ACT LIKE IT! We are Not babysitters nor are we here to cosign your BS when you screw up someplace and come here to whine that “oh there so mean to me” . If there mean to you it’s probably because you F’ed up and had it coming… if you don’t want to be told to “grow up” then don’t come here posting misleading messages looking for other whiners to cosign your  and tell you “yea, there so mean, you poor baby”

It then went on to clarify I am not suggesting the Forum admins do anything to try to prevent it as I’m a %100 believer in free speech and if members want to be “whining irresponsible childish cry babies” the admins should let them.

Then I summarized my frustration:

I’m just trying to relay my frustration at coming here and feeling like a babysitter for a bunch of third graders wanting to point the finger like “Teeeacherrrr johnny’s being mean to meeeee!!!”

And that brings me to Haystacks post. Mr. Haystack, 20 years old and using phrases like
Quote from: Haystack;175276
how big of a i've been
I decided
I think I fvcked myself over pretty good here
I am doing everything I can to try to make it right.

. I really royally screwed myself here.

You Haystack restore some of my faith in the younger generation of Fox owners. You made some mistakes (we all do) but you own up to them and you are aware that they are yours to deal with. I’m confidant you will make it through this, and I am also confidant you will make more mistakes in the process (I don’t believe there is a man alive that hasn’t). And if you allow yourself to learn from these mistakes you will come out the other side of this an even better man.

You set a good example to these other whining mommies boys of what it takes to become an adult. That we must all pay the price for our decisions and our actions. There is no free ride and the world is NOT out to get us, it is simply what we make of it

Sir, I tip my hat to you!

Haystack, after you get those warrants taken care of, you need to go straight down to your locale military recruiter and you need to sign up for service. I think you need to be removed from your current world and have replaced with one that's going to make you a man and teach you discipline, honor and responsibility.

Thats what I did. On top of all that is mentioned, you are trained to do a job, you get a decient pay, and a sence of something greater.

something I cant seem to understand,is why are you able to get your car out of impound, but yet you had no money for plates insurance.............etc.

I feel for you,but it appears that thru all this, you are just realizing you screwed up????? you repeatedly broke the laws/screwed up.you created your own problems.your best bet is to do as suggested above, and start living a responsible life.

Best of luck to you.

Sorry if I was taken as bitching at your post, or at you.. it wasn’t meant that way at all. Just the opposite actually. Concentrate more on my last two paragraphs, those two were directed at you.
I seriously do admire your post.. my point was your post was NOT what I was describing that I have seen way to often from others on this site. Mistakes are made, but it takes a true man to own up to those mistakes and that’s what I see you do in your post. Thank you for your post and your honesty.
