How is that possible?your to muckin fuch i was'nt looking for an exact number but a few of you got the right idea..180 miles 90 each way as i stated above will equal about 3 hours and 2 minutes.. from a dead stop to accelerate to 60 and drive from point A to point B will take 30 to 40 seconds stop to turn around and drive back to point A again will take another 35 to 45 seconds and you arive back at point A it will take about another 25 seconds to deccelerate to come to a complete stop.. a little math game so bare with me Reply #25 – September 07, 2007, 10:39:22 PM The scenario you've presented is impossible. You cannot "start from a dead stop" while "driving 60 MPH". If the truck cannot surpass 60 MPH it is impossible to travel the entire distance at that speed. You've also not given us the acceleration rate of the truck. Did it take the entire 90 miles to get to 60, or did it take 20 seconds? How long did it take for the truck to decelerate to 0, and how long did it take you to turn it around? How long to accelerate back to 60?I could get even more technical and say that since you didn't give us your lattitude we cannot accurately estimate or factor in the rotation of the earth - closer to the poles = slower relative rotational speed, closer to the equator = higher speed. You also didn't say whether you're traveling north-south or east-west, so we can't determine the speed you're whizzing through the solar system. Iif you're traveling against the earth's rotation and against the direction Earth is revolving around the sun your speed will be significantly different than if you're traveling into the rotation and into the revolution, and time of day will be a factor with revolution as well - you're going the opposite direction in daytime than you would be going at night. So, um... the answer is George Washington.
