Yay, I broke it, again. I hate cars. September 05, 2007, 11:13:04 PM Drove my stupid TC 20-30 miles today. Gas, bank, school, post office, etc.Coasted into the neighborhood and pushed it home... again.Sheared half the teeth on the dizzy and the aux shaft. *sigh*I'm never going to sell this POS without another engine. I think I'll drop the 5.0 in it and sell off the go-fast 2.3 goodies separate.Anyways, I'm going to try and fix it tomorrow. Quote Selected

Yay, I broke it, again. I hate cars. Reply #2 – September 05, 2007, 11:14:54 PM So basically a "Nice" TC with lots of NEW parts and fixed up old parts, is about 1/100th as reliable as a beat up TC with lots of old nasty stock parts? Quote Selected

Yay, I broke it, again. I hate cars. Reply #7 – September 05, 2007, 11:28:33 PM The AMC Blue was an attempt to exorcise the demons! I also have half of Bob's old TC's interior pieces stained with real chicken's blood. It's the car, it's possessed. If I stuck the engine in any other TC it would run fine. Stupid car. Quote Selected

I don't care what anyone says, you work a 4cyl engine hard enough to make power comparable to a V8, and it's durability is seriously compromised... For a daily driver, once you're past 275hp or so, expect to push it as much as ride...Yeah, I'll hear about this or that, and so & so's, but I'll NEVER be convinced otherwise... Quote Selected
Yay, I broke it, again. I hate cars. Reply #9 – September 05, 2007, 11:32:03 PM come to think of it... my old TC (turboranger91's) was a GM color and it was constantly taking dumps on me... broke an A4LD, cracked a T3, jumped followers, popped silicone couplers, 2 blown head gaskets... even the guy who put my exhaust in fvked up the paint on my rear bumper!... I see a trend... Quote Selected

Glad I didn't buy that finicky bitch tho Quote Selected

Yay, I broke it, again. I hate cars. Reply #13 – September 05, 2007, 11:39:27 PM My father, who pretty much grew up in the 70's, owned a Pinto at some point in the early 1980's. This was a car he purchased AFTER selling his 72 Firebird Formula 400 due to gas prices. Evidently the word of mouth back then was the 2.3 would run forever. So long as you kept up on the basics like Oil changes, and didn't constantly overheat the thing, it would keep on going and going and going. The fact that some over at NATO have Turbo Coupe's pushing 300k is testament to that. BUT...I have to admit, I am a true believer in the old saying"There's no replacement for displacement" Quote Selected

It should run forever with annual maintance...Quote from: Thunder Chicken;174636...as opposed to the SO 5.0, which does the work of a four cylinder and lasts forever :hick:Which falls right in with what I'm saying... Hell I know where there is a SO 5.0 that's never had the heads or intake off... Has 341K miles, NOT km... MILES... Quote Selected
