Hurt myself today!

I do know better! I was working on getting my 315's underneath today and needed to do a little tpuppies. I get out the grinder and don't have any cutting wheels. I do find an older/ non matching wheel. I didn't want to run out and get the right one, so I put it on. After about 2 mins of cutting the wheel explodes and hits my thumb. It seems to have cut the tip of my thumb and cracked my nail all the way down. How stupid. Now I need to decide on whether or not to go to the emergency room.

cutting wheels are serious stuff. i always try to avoid using them if i can. its never a good idea to mix and match wheel, especially ones that zip around as fast as some of those newer grinders and cutting wheels go. im really sorry to hear what happened, your lucky it didnt hit u in the face or anything...im sure me saying that doesnt make it suck any less for u tho. where u wearing safety glasses?

I did have glasses on. I really do know better, but it may make someone else think about it.

How stupid.

i was always told "stupid hurts." seems i always had to find out the hard way too. 'bout three months back i got my thumb wadded up in a big sander. the deck was too far away from the sanding surface and it sucked my work piece in, takin my thumb for a not so nice ride in the process.

I do stupid things all the time - though sometimes just bad luck. I was prying at the one frozen bolt on my A-arm Friday and the pry-bar let go and I sprained my knee catching my balance (knee has no anterior ligament already so spraining it is easy). Last ER visit was last year when a light fixture slipped when installing it an cut me to the bone near my index finger. Did you end up going to the ER?

I am just going to try to go to my doctor tommorow. I really hate our local ER. It's all taped up for now.
