Why I've been busy the last 3 weeks

Three weeks ago my 92 year old grandfather passed away. He left my dad his house. Since my parents didn't want to sell the house or move in they decided to let me "rent it" for $1,200 a year + utilities. It's a 4 bedroom 2.5 bath house with 1 year old a/c, furnace, windows, stove, and fridge. Not bad huh? It needs a bit of work and right now I'm working on the front room. I've re-painted and I ripped out the 51 year old carpeting (the house was built in 1956). I'm having the solid oak floor that was under the carpet refinished and in October new furniture will be delivered. Here are some pics from out side. Due to the work inside it's kinda messy and I didn't want to take pics yet:hick:

My Condolences on your grand-dad. The house seems like good deal. Where are you located at? Far from home?

Thanks guys. We were expecting it as he had cancer for the past year or so. He went peacefuly in his sleep which was good for everyone. The way I look at it he lived 91 years in perfect health so I guess one can't complain for having one bad year in a life.

Oh and I live a block away from my parents:hick:

Yeah backing up really isn't a problem. Plus I can put a lot of cars in the drive way;)

I would take more of the garage (where the T-bird is) but the batteries dies in my camera:hick: Garage is a 1.5 car with a  load of old Craftsman tools and a work bench:D

Yeah it's not a bad deal. Utilities are about $300 a month so all total it's about ~$400 a month (~$4,800 a year). It's a hell of a lot cheaper than an apartment.
