I actually grew up with FE's, and myself moved into 351 Clevelands before I found the 2.3T (notice a trend here ;) )

Guess I kinda left the Clevelands off the list and those guys have almost as much to complain about as the 2.3 crowd...

That's the beauty of the little motor, being "Jack The Giant Killer"... No doubt it's a great feeling to whip up on the big guns with a sling shot... I have to hand it to you, ain't many guys that can row a set of gears these days... In racing, it's becoming a lost art... This is the first Automatic Hot Rod I've ever owned... I pulled gears for 35 years, sometimes you get tired... IF Ford had a reliable O/D automatic to fit the 2.3, I dare say I'd still have one in my TC... Wanting to drive the car on the highway, makes a C4 unacceptable...

I guess what pulls one into the 2.3T waters, it is just so ed easy to make a few little mods and start making respectable HP... It's  when you want even more, that reliability starts to suffer... Would surely have been nice th have a good flowing aluminum head(at a reasonable cost) Unfortunately there isn't enough interest for, E'brock, TF, etc to tool up and start building them...

Yeah us Ford guys envied the "Bow Tie Boys" for a lot of years... Me I'm a old FE guy... While it's parts have never been plentiful, there have been enough around to generally put a good bruising  :beatyoass: on the Chevy guys... Just be smart enough to stay clear of the LS6s, GS455 Buicks, and the 426 Hemis(tho most of those were dogs unless they just finished tuning it up)...

Exactly, I crossed that line this year, and its not pretty, I started eating parts. Fortunately, the line is out there further than most guys think it is, but its there for sure, and its a big one to cross, your world changes in a hurry. I'm actually pulling my stuff back as we speak, I like going rounds better than going fast I geuss ( bracket racer) ;)

no matter what magazine write what about 2.3l's wont change my mind, its the first car i owned, and i have always had once since i was 14yrs 10yrs now). and i like the fact its hard to find parts, or you have to go searching a parts yards for a part of a ranger, or a 2.3 mustang. and well in my local Tbird club there are only a few of us TC's and mine being the well known one it makes me different and not the same. i have respect for my adoration of my 2.3l turbo 4 cylinder.

i say you complain about the 2.3l turbo engien, just stay away from it. and leave the parts for me and my fellow 2.3l turbo worshipers!

i love my 2.3t    :bowdown:

Anybody ever drive a Turbocharged Sunbird? I've always been curious as to its performance.

They actually work pretty good. I think they had around 180 horses in a car much lighter than a TC. Unfortunately that "lighter car" is a J-body...

I almost bought a 88 or 89 Buick Skyhawk. About 14years ago.It was 2.2 turbo auto. I would rip pretty good. My T/c would wax it.
84 Turbo coupe 2.3T Modded with 88 upper and lower intake, 88 injectors, E6 manifold, T3-4 AR.60 turbo, 31X12X3 FMIC, Homemade MBC , Greddy knock off BPV.
4 eyes see better than 2!
