Looking into some crotch rockets August 16, 2007, 10:47:34 PM I really want a Kawasaki Ninja 600cc but for the moment this is nothing more than pipe dreaming. What do you guys think would be a good starter bike?. Im sure as hell not buying new to begin with because i expect to spill the bike while learning to ride. Quote Selected

Looking into some crotch rockets Reply #3 – August 16, 2007, 11:46:04 PM LolIf you get a 600, I'd go something like my old bike, a Yamaha Yx600. Not the most powerfull 600 out there, but fun to ride. Also an lder bike you can drop. I slid it twice and rode home both times. I bought it for $400 and sold it for $425. Quote Selected

Looking into some crotch rockets Reply #5 – August 17, 2007, 12:15:06 AM Yamaha YZF600R. Cheap, EASY to work on, VERY comfortable, and easy on drops. Last of the true carb'd bikes. Quote Selected
Looking into some crotch rockets Reply #6 – August 17, 2007, 01:07:48 AM I bought a brand new bike as my first bike. Don't be afraid to get what you want, you'll only reget getting the wrong bike. Quote Selected

Looking into some crotch rockets Reply #8 – August 17, 2007, 01:52:34 AM A 125 cc... No, really, anything over 400 cc would be fine. I Liked 3 and 4 wheelers in the past.......one time i rode in the 3 wheeler and got hit with the steering wheel when i was landing before a jump....not nice... Maybe the CBR 600 would be fine. Not to forget, wear a helmet... Quote Selected
Looking into some crotch rockets Reply #9 – August 17, 2007, 02:36:50 AM Honda Nighthawk 750. Easy to ride and pretty fast. Will last forever and when you get ready to move on will sell easy.I have a 250 Nighthawk, a 750 Nighthawk and a Kawasaki Concours and I enjoy the 750 the most. I purchased the 250 for my 16 year old son but he only rode it a couple of time before he got on the 750 and I can't get him off.TED Quote Selected

Looking into some crotch rockets Reply #12 – August 17, 2007, 03:38:21 PM Bikes only go as fast as you make them go. Don't buy too small of a bike, you won't be happy for long. Jim Quote Selected
