please help me settle a debate! Reply #3 – August 07, 2007, 12:17:24 PM Layla weighs 3650 according to the truck stop. That's EVERY option in the book, my 230Lb fat butt, and a 1/4 tank. When I sold my 87 Code 33 TC last year, the waybill for the truck driver said a svelte 3140. That car had NO options and was shipped dry (no oil, water, gas, etc). Quote Selected
please help me settle a debate! Reply #4 – August 07, 2007, 12:32:02 PM Ford's published curb weights for a 1987 base model with a 3.8L was 3,133 lbs. for 1988 the same car is listed @ 3,215 lbs. In the 1988 Sales Guide there is a “Competitive Comparison” of other models that they considered a sales competitor to the 1988 Turbo Coupe, here they list the 1988 Turbo Coupes curb weight @ 3,415 lbs. In my experience, the only way to settle a debate like that is by taking one to the scales. You can get a bunch of responses to your question, but in most cases your friend won't be convinced unless the results are seen first hand.Brent:cougarsmily: Quote Selected

He lost a race to a member at work, who drives a civic hatch with about 85whp. He was complaining about how much his car weighed compared to it. All I did was post up something I found saying that an 87 Turbo coupe weighed 3375lbs with driver and the Civic weighed 2100. His buddy was claiming a 2000lb difference. Quote Selected

It makes you look good. Quote Selected
