Why can't you use these "car-copuppiess" outside?

I really like these and have thought about getting one at some point for the '38 so I dont have to rent a garage in the winter anymore.
 
But click on "more info" further down the page, a new window comes up, saying "not recommended for extended outdoor use". :mad:  Bleh. I emailed them like 4 days ago, havent gotten a response.
 
Any ideas why they say this? Thats the VERY thing I figured it would be useful for!
