I'll start.

Heres some I heard a long time ago.

Nasa made some ball bearing for a satlite they are the most pefect spheres know to man. If you were to blow them up the size of earth the biggest mountain would be as tall as a sheet of paper is thick.

Elephants are the only animal in the world that can't jump.

Polar bears are not white. Their skin is black and their fur is actually clear (and hollow). That one is false. It was the subject of quite a bit of controversy in 1986 when the bill first came out, and at first glance it actually does look like an American flag, but in actuality it is the Red Ensign, Canada's flag before the maple leaf was adopted. the box in the upper left corner of the flag that everyone assumed was the stars is actually the Union Jack. It's all moot, though - the Canadian $2 was phased out of circulation in 1996 when the "toonie" coin came out.

Some other strange facts:

The Thunderbird was the first domestic car to feature bucket seats and a full console.

I'll have to dig out my Thunderbird book for more, but there are a surprising number of modern conveniences in cars that made their debut on T-Birds...

The toilet got the nickname "per" from the first guy to mass produced them. His last name was per.
