Custom grill ideas July 24, 2007, 09:46:00 AM I've been working on making a custom grill for my bird. I just started. I was thinking of different centers to put into the grill area. Here are some pics of what I've done so far. That center must go. And now its gone. I was thinking about a mesh style grill. I've also thought about a tube style. Anyone have any Ideas what else might look good. Quote Selected
Custom grill ideas Reply #1 – July 24, 2007, 10:01:14 AM Sweet! Good job so far. It's fun to mess around with that.I don't know if this will help you, but here goes anyway:It's a painted horizontal billet-style grille from waaayyyyy back in tha day (cover of an old Hot Rod issue). Haven't seen anyone do that yet.Mesh is nice, provided you paint the insides surfaces of the grille black. Not sure about a tube grille. Quote Selected
Custom grill ideas Reply #2 – July 24, 2007, 10:03:38 AM Another thing you could have tried is leaving the top and bottom lines so it didn't look like someone with missing teeth :hick:Eric, That thing has a rather interesting bumper cover too! i want it! Quote Selected
Custom grill ideas Reply #3 – July 24, 2007, 02:16:04 PM I would have been simpler if I had a spare 83-84 grill to make it out of. Quote Selected
Custom grill ideas Reply #4 – July 24, 2007, 03:57:30 PM I think I might start playing with the black 84-5 grill I have now. Eric, I love that black bird pic. Almost as much as the motorsport grills Quote Selected
Custom grill ideas Reply #5 – July 24, 2007, 04:28:53 PM I had thought about a floating "Thunderbird" emblem, like the Mustangs had with the Pony and Cobra. But with the TC nose, that idea was put away. Quote Selected

Custom grill ideas Reply #8 – July 24, 2007, 06:11:57 PM It doesn't have to deep, though that would be badass Quote Selected

Custom grill ideas Reply #10 – July 24, 2007, 07:17:47 PM Fila if you want that grill look on ebay. That is a Motorsports Grill. Yeah I have 1 83-84 grill and 1 85-86 chrome grill and 1 86 Turbo coupe blacked out grill. Wasn't gonna hack the 83-84 or the black one. Quote Selected
Custom grill ideas Reply #11 – July 24, 2007, 07:37:24 PM I have the original 84 away for safe keeping. I have the 85-6 black grill on it now, and I have a chrome one to play with. Quote Selected

I've been discussing manufacture of this design...I wanted it to be a big suprise but still unsure of its popularity....Don't expect much I guess... Quote Selected
