Mustang progress report...

Ive finally been getting work done on the vert. I put new brakes on it, new lines, tune up, and things of that nature, but that was the easy stuff.

There was a hole in the floor, about 1x4" long, which i patched up nicely. While I patched it up, I decided to order carpet, floor mats, rear 1/4 carpet, interior paint both white and canyon red, seatbelt bezels, and some other little odds and ends.

This is how it sits:

The plan is to get the floor boards as clean as possible, lay down a few good coats of undercoating, and some sound deadening. I know its hard to eliminate noise in a vert, but every bit helps, especially when you dont have much choice in sound system setups.

Something else ive done, this car had the typical tears in the corners of the rear windows. I bought some white marine vinyl for boat seats, trimmed it and glued it into place for a temporary fix.

It's Gumby's fault.

Looking good. The top fix is a pretty neat idea. Mustangs really don't have a much sound deadening material as Birds do. When I did my console install I found about 1/4" of sound deadener under my carpet:hick:

It's looking good Shawn.

What are you using for undercoating and how's it working for you?

I was suprised when i pulled the carpet up, and only the front footwell area had sound deadening, and the area under the rear seat. The rest was bare. Im hoping that the undercoating will le it some, and ive got a foam pad im going to cut up to go under the carpet.

The factory wheel was very skinny, and when driving highways with slight bends, you couldnt see the gauges. I also have a Tbird shift handle on it to match the wheel.

Fred, the undercoating is stuff from advance auto, i believe its made by Duplicolor, and its called like "Professional UnderCoating" or something stupid like that. The cans go fast, but it seems to be going on nicely. I wont really know how well it did or didnt work, because i doubt with having a roof that the sound will be blocked all that well, but itll make me sleep better at night.
