Turtle Wax ICE (tried it out) Reply #15 – July 04, 2007, 07:57:06 PM I don't know if any of you guys have been tempted to try the ICE Liquid Clay Bar...but don't. I got some for my dad for Father's Day. I don't know what the hell it's supposed to do, but it didn't do jack squat for us. No substitute for a real clay bar.I have used the ICE quick detailer. It's expensive as hell...seems to work okay, but I can't say it's any better or worse than any other detailer. For the same results for less money, I'll stick with my Eagle One detailer.Turbo88...car looks GREAT. I'm glad that worked for you man. If you're comfy with it, then stick with it.If anyone wants the ease of applying a polish but the protection of a wax, Turtle Wax Platinum is the way to go. It lasts a LONG time. Turtle Wax stuff has really advanced in the 15+ years I stopped using it. Ever since Mother's changed the Reflections line, I gave up on that stuff, went back to my roots (Turtle Wax), been extremely happy ever since. Platinum is all I use on all three vehicles now, something I'd never thought possible before, as I'd always used Reflections polish on the convertible. Platinum is proving to be much better anyway. And you can use it on black plastic without leaving white residue. Amazing stuff.A lot of what's out there now is just marketing . And it's being marketed to Gen Y; heh...that should be the tip-off right there. Stick with the old-fashioned, tried-and-true stuff that's been improved, and you can't go wrong. Quote Selected

Turtle Wax ICE (tried it out) Reply #17 – July 04, 2007, 10:29:28 PM QuoteI got some free at a car show. Works ok for a touch up between heavy waxings but that's about it. I washed most of it off the next time I washed the car. No matter what there is no substitute for the 3 step process: paint cleaner, polish, and wax. I've had very good luck with Meguiars NXT paste wax. It usually lasts about 3-4 months before it has to be reapplied. ditto. its great for between waxes. it doesnt last long and it was a little "greasy" for me. looked tits for like a day. i use meguires myself. it smells nice Quote Selected
