Be interesting to see what it looks like cleaned up. The interior and drivetrain is obviously trash, but the body might not be too bad...

i live right down the street from a guy that inherited a 10 acre lot with cars from the 30's all the way till the 80's and some 90's.  the bulk is lead sleds.  that car with the mud caked on it looks like one of the worst examples like that i've seen.  i'd like to see it pressure washed to see what it really looks like.  the guy with the junk yard, JUST opened the doors (gotta contact him first) and he's got houses on his lot, sheds, you name it, even cars, FULL of trim parts, engines, heads you name it.  he every once and a while fishes good sheetmetal out of the yard, b/c he's restored a 30ish fleetside truck, and he just put a studabaker front end on a 83ish el camino... i know sounds like a mutt mixed with a mutt... still looks  good.

That thing is way beyond cleaning up. It looks like it was pulled out of the river.

Basically, it WAS pulled out of a river, or rather small pond.

You know if someone from Meguiars or Mothers stepped up to try to clean and detail this thing and succeeded, it would be a hell of a promotional piece.

I like the idea they had, just not the execution.
It is like finding old cars in barns, etc. I love the mystery of finding something forgotten, but this one didn't have a great outcome.

No, it's a pity that the car was so damaged. I guess the lesson learned is that if you want to bury a car, don't do it below the water table :hick: Maybe in a concrete crypt or something. Would've been pretty cool if the car had emerged in mint shape
