Electric Problem

I have a 1988 Cougar LS . The blower stopped, digital speed went out, blickers not working and rear defroster all stop at the same time. Any help?Need heat!! Thanks.

sounds like an ignition switch to me

Yep, it's the ignition switch. Anytime several circuits go out at once and are all tied together by one thing (the fact that they are all accessories that only work in the "run" position) it's usually the switch.

Replace it NOW, and take your battery cable off until you do. Without trying to sound like a drama queen, your car is a ticking time bomb. It could catch fire at any moment (you're lucky it hasn't yet). Until you can get that switch replaced, remove the battery ground cable and do not drive the car!
