its done!

THE EXHAUST IS DONE! im so happy with it. its excactly what i wanted, not real loud inside the car(but awesome tone), and pretty loud outside and even better tone. i was a little worried about it bogging down with  1-5/8 headers, but no bogging down at all. the specs on the mods are in my sig now.

but i went from this...

to this...

now im just waiting for my pulleys to arrive, then ill completely bypass the airpump (its still hooked up and turning, but its blocked off fromt he exhaust now). btw, this is the first thing ive done to my car that wasnt some sort of handmedown (ie, HO intake and tb).

Mmmmmmm flowmasters :D .  Feels nice to have REAL exhaust, huh?  It's a great thing.

And out of curiosity, how well did those headers go in?  Did they bolt right in or did you need to modify them at all?

I dont see an X pipe anywhere...in his sig, he says it's an H pipe anyway.  :flame:

The stock Y pipe still makes me cringe...

Don't disconnect the airpump,it's only worth 1hp(dyno proven) and it will keep your cats alive alot longer.

haha, yep no cats...smells like an old hotrod, sounds like one too, i love it! best thing i've ever done to this car!

but the pulleys should get here in about 6 days, so ill just leave the pump hooked up till they arrive, then ill buy a belt (76'' i believe) , do everything at once.

that GTX is my uncles. thats where i was able to get a lift. its a 67 (if i remember right). its actually a belvedere convertable, but he did the cosmetic upgrades and some performance ones to make it a GTX. it has the makings to be a sweet car when he gets more time.

and as for clearance, the drivers side fits no problem. but the passenger side was different. its about half an inch from hitting everything when it was on the lift. so i just moved it over a little to give more room everywhere else, and barley touch the driveshaft.
but obvoiusly when the cars on the ground, the driveshaft goes up. which clears the lers alot better. ive driven it all day today and havent heard any squeeks or clunks...just an amazing exhaust tone.

it also helped out the top end power in this car, and thats where it really needed help. before it stoppped pulling hard at about 3500, now it pulls pretty strong to about 4500. buying new stuff is addictive, i think i'll have a couple more upgrades buy the end of summer. :D
