Wet Floor?

I was cleaning out Da Bird yesterday and the Passenger side floor was wet. Not a little wet but soaked. I suck about two quarts of liquid out of the carpet and pad with a shop vac. So my first thought was Heater core leak or the heater case drain was pluged. I couldn't find any signs of it comeing from the heater box area. The drain was open and the water level was full. So maybe a windshield leak? I had it replace just last OCT! Anyone have any other ideas?

Condensation from the A/C? Instead of draining out on ground, leaking into interior?
I would think heater core too though, but should be easy to tell if fluid had antifreeze in it.

Have you been driving the car?
Maybe you have a hole in the floorboard..?
If it's not coolant...that would be my guess.

Yep I have been driving it everyday. I looked under the car and didn't see any holes. But you never know. I'm gonna pull the carpet once I get the other car on the road.

I had a similar problem occur on my driver's side last year. I looked and looked and couln't find it. It would only happen during heavy rain and was at it's worst when parked in my driveway during a heavy rain. Well, last summer my hood cable broke on me and upon removing it and installing the new one I discovered the grommet going through the firewall had turned into dust and disappeared. No problems since the new cable.

Think I figured it out. I was on here reading my thread here and the wife asked "what are you reading about?" I told her about the wet floor and she said" did you ever vac up that water mess I made" Oh yeah she spilled a big cup of water in the car about 2 weeks ago. I thouhgt she cleaned it up that day but turns out she just cleaned her truck not the mess she made in my car. Atleast I know why the floor was wet.

wow,, that was a close call, you were almost ready for a heater core invesigation,,,,, doesnt she understand these cars were built around the heater core?

THAT is so true. I replaced mine about a year ago. If I ever need to do that again I will probably s the car instead, that was totaly insane!

ALL they would have had to do was to put a simple little access panel in the firewall and it would be a simple job.

I think Heater core is the Bigest Curse word when talking about the Fox cars. That day she cleaned her truck I heard the Shop vac runnig so I thought she was cleaning up her mess but NO! Damm women sometimes they make me CRAZY.

Heater core replacement isn't that bad...it can be completed in less than 3hrs with basic hand tools and liberal breaks(i ended up smoking half a pack and taking numberous drink breaks)...the part i hate most is evacuating the A/C.
