Ive heard people say "that car is a piece of shiznit, why did you bring it here?".

I hear that everyday I drive my tbird.  My coworker is Ford guy, but he has a few tbuckets, too.  He asked me for a 350 Chevmotor to put in the one he has most complete.  I told him I'd ask my brother, he's the Chev guy.  I did not put him down , laugh at, or ridicule in any way for putting a 350 in an old Ford.  Instead, I told him it's great to atleast get it out on the road and enjoy it!  More than I can say for my 48 F1, that's been sitting for 3 years now, without anything near completion.

Don't worry man, I just got my brand new exhaust system pigeon holed to all hell, not to mention it pretty much finished off the dream I've had since kindergarten.  And I've had a few not-so-kind remarks at car shows already, but oh well.  Nobody will ever understand the extremely hard work that has been put into the engine.  But I will and that's what matters.

My bad man i feel like an asshole, by no means did i mean to rain on your parade. Its a beautiful ride man, i just voiced my opinion maybe a little to loudly. I apologize if i seemed like an asshole
I only have the little hate in my towards chevy, because i get ragged on 24/7 at school about me talking about my mustang, and my lincoln, wearing a mustang shirt, or anything ford. i guess it gets ya involved in picking sides after awhile. I will say the 350 is a great motor, and im sure that bucket is tons of fun, i was only saying its not ME, but its YOURS, so my opinion is comepleatly and utterly POINTLESS.

My sentiments exactly - hell, it's a car with a Chevy engine posted in a Ford board. Surely you expected some criticism of the engine? I've heard Chevy guys comment that putting an SBC into a Ford body is a waste of a good engine. When you mix parts from the two makes that foster the greatest rivalry in all of automobiledom you can expect comments.

I'm pretty sure it was pretty much unanimous that the car was great, even if the engine wasn't all of our favourites. No need to take your toys and go home.

News flash: That's pretty much how most of us feel about our own cars (especially V6 owners). If somebody loves my '88 Bird but doesn't like my S.O. 5.slow V8, so be it (in fact I'd agree with them).

And if they don't like the car they can go to hell. I wouldn't post my car in, say, a G-body forum, because I'd be fully expecting that if I did nobody would like the car.

As for the "Every street rod I see has an SBC" statement - even though one doesn't run into a T-bucket at every corner, there is no denying that if you open up any street rod magazine the SBC's are all over the place. That is actually the reason I stopped buying Street Rodder magazine - I loved reading about the cars but absolutely lost interest when I saw the underhood shot. Not because I have anything against SBC engines (indeed, some day I intend on building a second-gen Firebird with an EFI LT1 as a tribute to my first car), but because it became boring. No point in reading the same articles over and over. I suppose the same could be said for MM&FF magazine, but at least that rag contains some tech that applies to me.

It's kind of like Cobra R's on a T-Bird - lots of people here, on this forum, think they're overdone, but that's because we see plenty of them. In real life it's rare enough to see a Fox T-Bird at all, never mind with Cobra R's.

Anyway, it's too bad you decided to take the pics down. If I had a car that I was proud of I'd show it off, comments be ed. Taking the pics down because a few people (on a Ford site, no less) would rather see a Ford engine in a Ford-styled car kinda gives me the impression you're ashamed of it.

i didn't get a chance to check out the pictures, but from what i can see it's a tbucket with a 350 strapped into it.

i don't know why people are putting it down. so what, it has a chevy motor in it? so do so many ford coupes. I think it's pretty kick ass to drop a sbc into an older ford. sure, there are a lot of them, but they never stop getting old.

i think it's awesome that you've got 1. i've always wanted a 32 duece coupe with a sbc wedged into it:D

you should just ignore the ignorant people who just want to pick it apart. you don't see them with a t-bucket, i think they're just jealous ;)

I'm pretty sure NO ONE on here was picking it apart.  It's a beautifully built car with insane attention to details.  MY comments  (which have been voluntarily REMOVED) were only good-natured ford vs. chevy ribbing.  Isn't it a 'rivalry' that's been ongoing for decades?  I wasn't trying to shiznit all over the SBC, but some of us were, I guess.  I'm sorry, Cougar5.0 if we've ruined all your memories of your youth.

Is this a new thing we have here?  Is PMS going around or what?

Guess I'm mistaken.  There's never been any sort of rivalry between Chevies and Fords.  IF you had seen my comments, you'd realize that mine were the MILDER of some of the ones posted.  But you're all about being a bitch about things so go fvck yourself.

Cougar5.0  I'm sorry your thread's been ruined.  I really don't think my comments were too offensive, but if so, I apologize.  I wish you'd re-post the pictures so others could see 'em, but that's up to you.  If you do repost 'em, I'll keep my mouth shut.  Even though, like I said, MY comments were pretty even-tempered.

Geez, I didn't mean to start up a shiznitstorm over this. I think I was justifiably just a bit annoyed at the focus on what I think is the least interesting part of the car - the actual manufacturer of the engine. You guys would be shocked if you saw the receipt I have where the previous owner spent $3300 to replace the engine!! I do appreciate those who have appologized - I may have been a bit overly sensitive too, though I think if Eric got a bunch of  in his unveiling, he would have been annoyed as well. I agree with the plumber - perhaps this thread should be locked. I want to take my own pictures of my car that show that the paint is actually red (those were from the previous owner) and maybe start another thread - who knows. I won't be calling the car a "Ford" though. It's a T-Bucket and the only Ford part on it is the 8" rear end.

BTW, there are a couple of Ford powered T-Buckets on Ebay if anyone is interested. :D

I'll state it again, I love T buckets and I wouldn't care if it had a 350.

I happen to love lantern lights, red paint and the short pickup beds.

Also consider that half the people who low balled you wouldn't even have known it was a Chevy engine had someone else not said something.

why is it everybody rushes to appoligize for their comments on somebodies car when they dont like something and it offends that person?????  if you cant handle negative feedback, dont post pics of things.  grow up alittle and take some constructive critiscm.  Negative or positive.
I personally missed the pics but would like to see them, even though I stand on the fence of, if it aint ford badged and powered, I wont be looking at it too closley.  (your car does sound nice though and I DO want to see it) so relax, go take a shiznit because you seem a bit constipated and show us the  pics! ;))
My dads boss built up a 35 ford truck a couple years ago and I LOVE it.  why?  Hows a 410hp 302 under the hood grab ya?  yeah, NOT another  chevy motor in a hot rod.  go to a car show and tell me what 95% of the hot rods have under the hood.  thats right a chevy motor.  WAY overdone.
As has been said, if you like the car that is all that matters right? Did you buy it/build it JUST to make us happy/envious/jealous/whatever?  Doubt it, you did it to make you happy and remembere your past right?  So just relax and enjoy the fruits of your labour man. Why are you so upset because many of us dont like fords with chevys under the hoods?  and what kind of response did you expect on a FORD board.

Hell if I was worried about what people thought about my blue Cougar, it would be in the s yard years ago, but I am soldiering on and following it through to the end.  why?  because it makes ME happy and the rest of the world can F off.

Please dont come back and bitch at me for this post, because I am not triing to offend you or keep a g contest going, just sit back and absorb it and think about what truely makes you happy.  That is all that matters bro.  and please put the pics back up, I want to see it.
