Mustang rim HELP!!

I scored a set of Aluminum rims off a STOCK 88 mustang GT.  There are NO center covers however to cover the lug nuts.  WHERE do I find center caps for this rim?.  WHat other year mustang rims will have the center caps to fit these.  My STOCK T-bird rim cover plates are just to small to fit in the mustang rims I have now.

And I assume the new wheels your talking about are turbines

The 15" turbine rims have their own unique center caps...no other Ford center cap fits them AFAIK. Stock model years used:

MUSTANG - 1987-89 GT only (silver) - Ford emblem embossed
COUGAR - 1987 20th Anniversary (gold), 1988 XR7 only (red, black, white, silver) - Cougar cat head embossed

Try eBay, the local salvage yard, or swap meets.

NO, they are NOT the Turbines!!.  They are Aluminum with the holes around the rim just like my Stock T-bird rims!!.

You got the 15 x7 10 holes then. Like the ones on the black car in my signature.
Here's what you want.

Look at Junkyards and Swapmeets as well like Eric stated. You can find them with the T-bird logo on them instead of the Ford if that's what you wish.
I think you'll find them primarily on pre 87 Turbo Coupes.

Sweet 5.0willgo, your a big help man.  I'm new to the T-bird scene and I'm trying to learn what fits and what is compatible with what on my car.  Thanks for the info.  OPINION needed.........My T-bird is like a Brown color, Should I paint my rims like a satin black color or just strip them and re-do to look factory aluminum color?.  If I choose the factory rim aluminum color then what color is that called to make them look aluminum again?.

The MN12 15" Tbird/cougar center caps fit the ten holes as well.

And those ARE NOT stock '88 GT rims, '86 GT rims yes, '88 no.  The '88 GT had the turbines as stated.

Yeah, well, I have two sets :hick: (and Aerobird Motorsports probably has like 40)

AKBirdy: The 10-holes are clearcoated natural aluminum finish. To make them look factory you don't paint 'em at all (except clearcoat).

I restored mine and they came out very nice. You can also polish them to a near-chrome finish if you want to put some work into it.

Actually I stripped them last night with Acetone and I bought some duplicolor paint that is supposed to look just like factory aluminum.  It turned out great, It's like I have brand new rims!!!.  I'll throw up some pics if I can.  Thanks for everyones help.  PS. the Mustang rims I bought and re-did came with almost new 225 60 r15 goodyear tires on them.  They are pretty wide and filled out the wheel wells nicely, plus they are an "H" rated tire good for 140mph.  The car handles SO MUCH better now, the sidewalls are lower and tighter, so there is virtually no side wall flex or roll when I corner hard, feels Really stable!!.  Anyway, later

Cool, glad it worked for you.

Just to let you know too, the 225 60 15 tire is the factory correct size for those rims. Just for reference ;)

Also, H is only good for 130 MPH. V is up to 149 (and Z is over 149). I think there are a few newer, higher ratings as well. Not that you'll likely ever have to worry about it :D

I've got the same size/rating (225/60HR15) on mine

W and Y that they are like 168 and 186 respectively.  Usually found on Drag Radials and most exotics come with them... it's not really a big deal actually.
