tryed to take the nylon off the line, cut to far in and cut off the line inside too. ruined them. Now im back to looking for a full line set, and the 40 dollar t bird lines are useless, the 5 dollar fittings are useless and the 30 dollar tools are useless. and im broke

oh, that sucks.

see what happens when impatience over runs logic? :hick: how the hell were you going to get a fitting on a bend? you can still patch it if you cut back a little more to splice in another piece of tubing. is there not anybody around to help you?

i tryed cutting back now im at the nubs that hold the nylon on the metal. i thought i could get the fitting over the bend to flare the straight part, when i couldnt get it down far enough i tryed to lessen the bend, and i bent in the line, so i cut it off at the elbow and it was to short, so i tryed to cut the nylon, and i cut in to far. And no im the only one around with any automotive know how, so im left to figure things out on my own. And of course because i tryed to shoehorn parts that didnt belong in the easy way i now in turn made more work for myself, and i lost money. See in the pic where my thumb is the little nub, thats where the line ends now. I tryed to rush and screwed up. now i have to find new lines, i still need to do all the brakes, and i need to get new rear shocks, my drivers side door wont lock, nor will the window go down, the water pump is leaking, and the power steering is gone. you see why im getting frustrated and trying to get things done?

If I remember right,I said "be patient, take your time".Until you learn patience, and quit trying to rush the job, you'll keep seting yourself back further and further. If it's a matter of time,if you don't have time to di the jo right the first time, then how are you going to find time to do it twice?I've been working on my car for months.I had hoped to be finished by now, paint and all, but,to make sure everything is right,I'm still working. The good thing,I haven't had to go back and re-do everything. We all learn from mistakes, but a few of you guys just keep repeating the same mistakes.Spend money, wait for parts, get in a hurry, mess it up,start over.Slow down and do it right. If you don't have the right parts, work on something else until you find what you need, not just parts that might work.Good luck. You need it.

well im alot better now. It was a gamble on the t bird lines, so now i guess im being forced to do it right! which really isnt a big deal. i have been iffy about bubble gumming it this whole time cause fuel lines are a big thing. When im at my dads we are gonna do alot of junkyarding and im gonna try and get all the parts i need for the car when im down there. we are even gonna try and get me gt 40 heads and intake. but thats after the important things i need. I wish he was up here to help me, i know i sometimes get carried away, but up to this point ive been doing good on the car, and i learned from my mistake today. Im not gonna gamble with stupid things like that anymore. And if i dont know enough about what im doing, im gonna look for help before i jump in head first

Fuel lines, exhaust, spark plugs,it doesn't matter what the task is.Take your time, study hat you're doing, ask questions until you understand what you need to do,then, look over everything, not just the part you're working on,but what's around that part.Get a feel of the territory so to speak.Know your surroundings. There's a lot of people here to walk you through it,but it's how you carry out the task that makes the difference. We can suggest anything........Like patience for example, but you have to make the ultimate decisions.

and how are you going to do it "right"? those lines can still be patched. it may require buying about 5' more tubing, but it CAN be done.

FINALLY GOT MY LINES!! I need to splice the NYLON into the nylon quick connects i have which is 2 1 dollar specific purpose splices. Found a guy selling used drilled rear rotors, 15 bucks, new front pads 15 bucks, and new front drilled rotors 80. So i pushing to buy them all, cause my car needs that stuff bad, and its all cheaper then buying new stock replacements!

Well I might be trading vin parts for good dew wipes. The only difference with mark dew wipes and t bird dew wipes ive been told is where they leet the mirror. Looks like its a new project time!!! Add t bird mirrors to a mark 7! Ill lose the heater mirror, but i wanted to try the bird mirror on anyway so it just needs the harnesses spliced which should be simple. I'm gonna have a very unique mark. Anyone have a good cruise control turbo coupe steering wheel they could trade me for parts i have? The one from my dads parts car has a chunk hanging out of the top, and is deteriorating. Its better then what i had.

Well my mom told me today shes sick of me complaining about my car, and is gonna loan me the money to finish it. As much as I don't want to, I want to. Getting brakes ASAP, and the fittings i need to get the new fuel lines in. After that finishing the exhaust, and mikey is suppose to be sending me a power steering line, if not a new one of those to get the rack in. Then the tail light, and trim clips, Vinnie's gonna hook me up with dew wipes and a door lock actuator. Things are looking good.

Sending out a money order soon for new front pads and rotors, and used rear rotors. Drilled units. The whole package comes to cheaper then new stock replacements so I'm grabbing them. Next comes custom flow tubes. Should be coming together in the next few weeks
