Smelling Gasoline 2.3L

The last week or so i have noticed the smell of gasoline in the vehicle when i am still in traffic or even when i am driving along, even after the car has sat for several hours and you get in it, you can smell the hint of raw fuel. I have checked my injectors, and i tried cleaning out the EGR valve and looking here and there but i still can't find an exact cause for this smell.

Does anyone here have any knowledge or assumptions as to what the problem may be, any input is appreciated.

Have you checked for leaks in the lines?

Good luck dodging pink elephants while you drive :flip:

Lol.  Seriously though I'd think lines or perhaps something is causing the engine to run rich.

Smelling a bit of gas for a few weeks now. In the morning, while driving, stop signs, etc No sign of a leak other than the occasional little smell.
The last week has gotten worse, car started running real rough, Check Engine light started flashing. I had her take it into the Chevy Dealer they had to pull the Plenum and look under it. There this screwy car runs off one injector that is like a spider and feeds all 6 Cylinders Apparently the fuel line has rubbed against this $600 injector and rubbed a hole through it, then continued to rub till it rubbed a hole through the fuel line, now pure fuel is pouring past the injector directly into the intake (or someplace WAY rich running is where the Rough running is coming from)
All said and done $1000+ Parts and labor going out today.

Check under your upper intake.. a leaky injector possibly? Fuel spraying on the intake evaporating before it get’s to the ground.???

Leanne asked me “what’s wrong with it” I replied “it’s a chevy!”

EDIT: Opps.. you have already checked the injectors... Lines?

Still have not found the problem, there is no signs of anything anywhere. None of the lines are cracked or damage, yet i smell raw fuel. and it sure stinks, its coming from under the hood, thats were the most pro dominant smell appears to be. So does anyone at all that has any experience with the 2.3L know what that could be? a bad sensor of some type? like i previously posted the injectors are not leaking, so what could it be!!??

Is the charcoal canister bad? I think there's a vent from the tank to it. Or maybe a ling from it is cracked. It should be on the passanger side near the radiator. This is just a thought, and I may be wrong, but it appeares possable to me

do you have a cone style air filter? or stock airbox

my Tc's have a smell of fuel in the summer time due to the carbon canister vent that goes to the air box being disconnected becuase i have a  cone air filter on them.

did you check the lines under the car?

the springs in the fuel lines going to the injector rail on my first TC would leak a bit due to the o-rings not sealing, i smelled fuel occasionally but being 17yrs old i didn't take a big notice to it and didn't care til one day the lin blew off and ALMOST
caught the under hood on fire, luckily i was near a friends house and was able to fix it and get going again

First off i would like to say thanks for your guys concern/input.

Started the car today and smelt it, every time i checked the injectors the car was at running temperature and i couldn't see any leaks from the injectors, however when it was cold i saw a leak out of 4th and last injector. I swapped it out with a spare one i happened to have, problem solved.

I believe that when the car was hot and because of the small amount of fuel leaking, it evaporated and i could not see any fuel or wet spots on the injector.
