Progress pics of the engine

So I finally got around to snagging an HO out of a Lincoln Mark and got it all torn down. Sent the block and heads out for cleaning and machining. Ordered up a summit rebuild kit along with double roller timing chain, roller rockers (thanks cougarman!) and ARP bolts. So where's the 347 you ask? Oh it's in the near future. Since I got some dough to play with Im going the 302 route first to lay waste to a few imports out at the local track. In the meantime here's some pics of the build in progress. Still need to pull the bird in the garage to pull the old motor so im still slackin there. Oh yeah there's going to be a nice little surprise for the motor when im done but I'll save that for when the time comes.

If I have oil leaks after putting an engine together, I have no business building one in the first place. :hick:  But seriously the only problems I have ever had with oil leaks was valve cover gaskets or a rear main seal. And to solve the valve cover issue I use the metal frame gaskets with the bonded O-ring in em. Those things kick ass when it comes to no leaks. And the rear main? Well I spend a weekend dropping the tranny putting in a new one. BTW im buttstuff about oil leaks. :beatyoass:

I got the blue rubber ones from Fel Pro.I love them. The factory style metal/bonded rubber alre also great. It's nice to be able to remove and re-install the valve covers without sealant and new gaskets.Just use them over and over.I also use the one piece oil pan gasket.Another piece I'm glad I bought.
