So I'm guessing you're taking us all for fools when you say it runs good everyday?  Its not like less than a month ago you posted all about issues with the brakes.

I just fixed the brake problem. Needed a New ($115) accumulator.

Aerobird, how bad is the rust?

Dam dude i'd find you a sport and trade you if i lived near you.
Sports are nothing compared to TC,s.
No electronic ride control,no abs,no rear disc brakes,py rear end gears, smaller sway bars(sometimes)No factory fogs,no hood scoops and a V8 with less power than your 2.3L.
Now i did the obvious because i love my TC, but i also wanted the V8,I swapped mine to a supercharged 5.0L HO.
Mine is identical to yours but fully loaded less moonroof and pass power seat(two options i have no use for).
This way i have all the goodies and a charged V8 so now it's at least boosted again, centrifricals are just like turbo's u know lol.
Keep the TC put duals from an 88 on it,gillis and a t3/4 hybrid(ebay 250.00+shipping) then run 24lbs of boost, you will no longer have any use for the V8.

You have a perfect car. Do what Dominator said, or find a 5.0 and build it to how you want it. Its not that expensive to do, just how long you are willing to wait for it to happen. I havent really driven my Cougar in a year, just occasional cruizes. Im waiting until I have it done right to drive it alot. Just time, patience and money. Ive learned patience is definetly worth it.

Swapping a 5.0 isn't that expensive if you take your time to gather the parts you need.Let's see,5.0 harness and computer, exhaust and motor mounts, tranny, engine of course (cheaper to buy a complete assembly with intake to oil pan),good to go.It really isn't that hard. We'll help.
