What would you give up your Bird/Cat for?

Carm's thread and a discussion over Overhaulin tonight brought me to this. Is there a car you would actually give up your fox for? Especially guys like us with highly modified ones or just ones we've had forever? Sure there's Ferrari's and what not, I mean an actual obtainable car? Like a specific one?

When I was 14 I was just learning to drive. My dad had a 1970 AMC Javelin Mark Donahue Edition. I helped him build the 360 when I was 13, it made 380rwhp. This car was his daily driver (he still has his 68 AMX 390 4-Speed, 11.40's n/a, since he was 15) and it was the second coolest car I had ever known (behind his AMX). It was an original Red/Red car (see, NOW you hear the truth :D ) but it had been repainted to match the Red/White/Blue Trans Am cars. It was loud, it was fast, and it had "the look". Anyways on my over the summer for my first "official" drive we were at Daytona International Speedway for a HUGE car show (Spring Spectacular, THOUSANDS of cars) and this was back when you could still drive ON the track. We pull up to the entrance and my dad hopped out of the Javelin and said "Drive it". He got in the passenger side and we were off! I drove onto the track and 3/4 of the way around the oval to Victory Lane where they shoot a photo. That was the coolest day of my life. Yes, I still have the photo ;)

He had to sell it the next summer to rebuild the engines in his airplane (1964 Twin Cessna 310I, a fast-@$$ plane) and it went to California. I saw it later that year when I was on vacation, real nice guy bought it. He restored it back to Matador Red/Red but left the drivetrain alone. These pics aren't THE car, but you get the idea. This is the only car I'd ever give up Layla for. DO you have one?

I can't think of anything that would make me want to give up my '86 TC.  Waaaaaaay too many memories and it was my first "functioning" car.  Probably only if someone offered a Torino Talladega strait up....

When I finished high school I had an 83 Bird which although it wasnt my first car was my first new car ( I had a 61 Bird) I traded it and got a corvette.  Just what your average 17 year old needs. Fun car didnt get into trouble with it(much). That was one of only 2 Chevys I have ever owned. After getting it I saw my old bird a few times and watched it fall into disrepair.

Right now there is nothing short of a Ferrari I would trade it for. Ok, maybe a Pantera GT5-S but it would have to be perfect.

I wouldn't trade the '88 for the world... I'm planning to be buried in it.
The '86 on the other hand, I'd trade for my '76 Camaro back. Sure it was a mullet mobile but that car was the only car that stayed throughout my life. I have fond memories of my grandfather and I going out in it and then of him giving it to my sister a year before he died. Her and I always had fun in it and it was next being given to me. Unfortunately there was too much body rot and it wasn't worth fixing. I held onto that car for 10 years before coming to that realization and sold it last summer.
Of course to trade the '86 for it, the Camaro would have to be in better condition than it was when I sold it.

I always used to say I'd trade my car for an 87-88 Cougar XR-7 or 20th, , a four-eye V8 or TC 'Bird, an 87-88 5-speed TC, or an 88-92 Mark VII, but that was before I actually invested time into modifying it. This is the first car I'd ever actually done any of the things I wanted to do with all of my other cars. I've grown quite an emotional attachment to it.

Truth be told, I don't think I'd ever get rid of it now. I mean, obviously if some fool came along and offered me a '69 Boss 429 even trade I'd jump on it, or even an '05+ convertible Mustang GT I'd be all over it - let's face it, money talks, and I'd be a fool to not accept a car worth several times what mine is worth - but we all know that isn't going to happen. The fact is my car's paid for, so there will never be any reason to sell it. Even if I did sell it, it wouldn't take a big enough dent out of the price of any car I'd want to replace it with to make it worth selling anyway. If I ever took it upon myself to buy an 87 Anny, 87-88 XR7, 84-86 V8 or TC Bird, or 88-92 Mark VII I'd just buy it outright and park it next to my car.

Yeah, I dont think I'd ever get rid of my Tbird for a few reasons:

It's my first car.
It's awesome.
I basically see it as the car version of me.

Also, I'd like to share an interesting tidbit.  My dad's parents always dreamed about getting a Thunderbird.  I'm named after my dad's dad...and my first car is a Tbird?  Sure, it's not the same car they had dreamt about, but still a coincidence?

No other car can replace what this car means to me.  I wont trade the car; if somebody wants to sell me something, I'll just buy it.  I remember when my ex-neighbor was showing me pics of him and his wife getting married in his 67 Chevelle (he had the car since day 1 and still has it today) and that really inspired me.
