I just bought a bottle of Xalatan eye drops.

$59.44 for 2.5 ML of 0.005% Xalatan solution.

I figure that's:
$23.776 for 1 ML of 0.005% solution
$23,776 for 1 litre of 0.005% solution
$237,760,000 for 1 litre of 50% solution
$475,520,000 for 1 litre of 100% Xalatan

Is my math correct?

I don't think gas is high. It's higher than I'd like to see it, but it's not truly high. You'll know when it gets truly high by one simple indicator: People will start burning less of it. As long as you see cars idling in drive-throughs, highways jammed solid with cars each holding one person, and people buying cars 8 times larger than they need, you know gas is still cheap.

You know that gas is expensive when they have a fuel surcharge on anything delivered. You know gas is expesive when everyone is comes in your parts store looking for ways to save gas. You know gas is expesive when they can make and sell a probuct called gas mileage booster. You know it is expensive when everything you buy has went up because the cost of gas.

Gas is cheap.

$1.25 for a 16 oz bottle of WATER? That's just stupid. Why are we paying $10 a gallon for the most plentiful resource on earth?

Yeah, that's a funny one. Though when you consider parts (bottle & cap & water filters), labor in the factory & shipping, storage, sales & marketing costs, you quickly realize that the few cents worth of sugar, artificial flavor and color don't really add much to the cost of the product.

Sure, there are plenty of people that can still afford gas, and those are the people you may be referring to. But me, an 18 year old getting a meager $6.50 an hour, normally a 3rd or more of every pay check goes towards my gas for the next 2 weeks until my next paycheck. It's rediculous. I do severely limit the amount of driving I do. As tempted as I am to go out cruising in my Tbird, I normally just sit at home bored to death thanks to those money hungry assholes. Tonight was one of the RARE occasions that I did decide to go out for a leisure cruise. Other than that, it's either straight to school, straight to work, or straight home. Thank goodness my HO has been knocking down some nice mpg numbers.

Well, yes, I was talking about society in general. Even if gas was 50 cents a gallon there'd still be people driving Geo Metros to burn as little of it as they can, and even if it was six bucks a gallon there'd still be those buying Hummers, Suburban and Expeditions. My point was that you'll know when gasoline becomes truly expensive when society as a whole moves toward smarter driving habits and more efficient vehicles. Right now everyone is grumbling but few are doing anything about it. When the grumbling turns to action you'll know it has become expensive.Which, in your case, has already happened :D

Gas got expensive when it passed $1.50/gal.

Anyone who thinks $2.25 is reasonable has been desensitized... Which is what they want. If you stop complaining about $2 they can raise it to $2.50. Once you get used to paying $2.50... up to $3 it goes and so on... Oh, and God forbid if there's a huricane in the gulf!

Yep, we're screwed... Get used to it! LOL

I remember when I was 18 and gas was around 72 cents a gallon, I was bitchin' about the price then, and alot of my paycheck was going to fill my 7 mpg 73' Duster up. Whenever my friends and I would go out, we all had to pitch in for gas. I agree that we are all becoming de-sensitized to the price, however, the profit margin that the oil companies are making is what drives me crazy, although I am all for capitalism, I think that there needs to be some common sense restrictions set in place for some of our basic needs, like gas, electricity, water, and NG. Let them all still make some money, but how about only 20%. Just my 2 cents..

Gas sucks but you have to deal with it.

It costs us $10 to mow our lawn each week.
I drive 75 miles a day 6 days a week. That is 450 miles per week and I average about 28 mpg. That's 16 gallons of gas and at current prices near me of $2.75, that is $44.20 per week or $88.40 per pay check on gas.

Those figures though don't include any errands what-so-ever so really I pay more than that. Typically, I fill up every 3-4 days.

I could complain about it but its not worth it. I made an important decision in 2005 when I bought my new car. Either go as cheap and economical as possible or sacrifice some economy for something a little more stylish. I chose to get something more stylish. Even at that I did choose a base model considering the slightly cheaper insurance on a 4 cylinder vs 6 and better fuel economy.

My mom traded her 35mpg Malibu in on a 19mpg Grand Cherokee and when my dad's old Ram got totaled and he had to buy something new, what did he have to have... Hemi Ram 1500 QC 4x4.

Like stated before, gas won't be too expensive until everyone has to buy an econo box.

Medications are horrible like what softtouch was talking about. Just flat out ridiculous.

Gas isn't expensive to the rich and to anyone who can pass the extra cost on to someone else.

I think it's nuts that I'm driving a $650 tempo right now, and it costs me $10 for 3.5 gallons of gas. It's $30-something just to fill the tank. I'm really gonna be hurting when I start driving the Bird soon...nothing like paying $60 for a tank of gas.

I read not too long ago that trucking companies such as Schneider are actually MAKING MONEY off their fuel surcharges (and I mean millions per year)...I'm sure they don't mind the high prices.

$60 for a tank of gas? I think we passed that point here in Canada a decade ago. My T-Bird would swallow every bit of $80. Even the Volvo will take $70...
