need help! locked myself out of my car

I accidently locked myself out of my car :-| i heard about using a long skinny screwdriver to unlock the door but im not sure how long and the process of doing so. i need to move the car by 9 am on the 20th (tomorrow) pacific time.. or it gets impounded :-| i just got the notice on the car this morning about 9 am i only get 24 hours. please help i will also be looking through forums checkin for the post regarding the use of a screwdriver. i dont wanna have to bust a window and ill also try coat hanger thru the door trick.

see if you can find someone with a slim-jim. perhaps a cop might have one, sometimes they do. all i know is around here there was one that sadly could not help me because he said "we're not allowed to carry em anymore" d'oh!!! maybe youll have better luck!

I've always had luck with carefully prying the top of the door away a bit and using a coat hanger to either hit the power lock button (if they work) or just make a loop in it and yank up on the door handle...

i got it open with the screwdriver trick! :-) took me a lil bit but its unlocked n i got my keys out of it. atm i dont really care to talk with cops ive been having issues with them since monday lol thank you blown306cougar for the info and help over the phone and to 88sportcoupe for the info as well now to move it before its hauled away :-|

btw chuck no power locks but i tried the coat hanger and couldnt get the lock rod

Prying out the top of the door with a slim/small flat bar and using a properly shaped metal yard stick works well too. Works even better when you lock your keys in a running car.

Don't ask how I know.

i dont use my door or truck key EVER. usually the trunk key isnt even on the keyring b/c keyless, all i have to do is punch some buttons and i got both doors unlocked/locked and the trunk popped. i have however locked myself out of my glovebox by locking it and the key falling out of my pocket making it a mad keysearch. alls good tho. i think you can get one of those systems that use the newer keybob or whatever that'll even pop the doors open for ya like your a celebrity...
