job April 19, 2007, 02:24:14 AM ok all i come off of workmans comp after two months of being on the injured roster with a bad back and then i get a call from my supervisor. he wants me to go in to talk to him, meh no biggie is what im thinkin just wantin to get caught up on all the events of the day. boy i couldnt have been more wrong, when i get in there, there is just a real bad feeling about the whole thing, like co workers who i used to really get along with wouldnt even look at me or anything and my super comes up and shakes my hand real weakly and wont look me in the eyes. next we go back to his superiors office and then they proceed to drop a file in front of me and tell me "due to performance reasons as well as sickness we are unable to keep you in our employment" now does anyone else think that is complete garbage or am i just one of those modern teenagers that thinks everything needs to be given to me? job Reply #1 – April 19, 2007, 04:22:58 AM As far as I know, a lot of people get laid off after being on disability for a long time. There's really nothing you can do about it either. Happened to a lawyer friend of the family actually. Quote Selected

job Reply #3 – April 19, 2007, 05:28:14 AM Well, what they did to our family friend was replace her. Then they were like well, she's on the payroll now, and we can't afford to have 2 of you, so sorry you'll have to go since she's in the middle of some big cases. Quote Selected

If you live in a "Right to Work" state, they can. They can terminate your employment for no reason at all. They don't even have to give you a reason. Quote Selected
job Reply #5 – April 19, 2007, 01:05:16 PM ya thats the biznatch part of it is i do live in an RTW for less state personally i think the unions need to step it up in the rtwfl states and send a real strong message unfortunately it really stems from agriculture and republican mindsets and many people view those to go right next to mom and home baked apple pie, and if you dont agree then you are a communist. i drove local truck for a resteraunt supply co. teal green trucks big gold star on the side i dont know if anyone recognizes that but ya. workin 60-70 hours a week wasnt good enough for em so i got canned. plus i think they was wanting to protect their wallets from me and my injuries.
